rubber on springs????

Default rubber on springs????

I just bought a set of tanabe springs and I have a black piece of rubber that the instuctions say to cut an put on the narrow part of the springs......Does this mean I need to cut small sections and place them around the spring????? Or is there a certain way to cut the rubber to have one piece all around?????? A little confused on the rubber ....I know why but I don't know how....can someone please help my dumb a$$....thanks

Are you talking about the rubber coil stuff? It should go around the dead coils so the springs don't rattle when they rub.

Yeah I understand that part....I just don't understand how to cut it to get that amount of length around the springs as illustated in the pictures they give me. they only give me 2 pieces about 6 or 8 inches long.......they have a slit in the center of course to get the stuff off the spring and then there are holes all through the stuff....is that where I am to cut the rubber??????/

the best thing dude is to copy the picture on the manuel book. that is the best thing, I had the same exact problem with my friends xb when installing the tanabe springs. but I just look at the picture and wahla. perfect.

Hmmm, I've got Espelier springs that did not come with any rubber, and they are progressive in the back too. I bet that's where my rattling is coming from, might have to buy some vinyl tubing from Lowe's.
