To be honest I wasn't sure when I first got mine, I have heard a lot of things about the 02 WRX's but the install was super simple and once I sat down with the instructions the wiring portion of this kit because suddenly simple. Hardest parts was hiding the wireing and the ballast.

^ Yea. I didn't have any idea of what I was doing when I first ordered my buddies kit. Once I opened up the box though, it became self-explanatory.

My kit had a ton of extra wiring that attached to the battery and all that good stuff, so I was a little overwhelemed until I figured out what all the wiring was for.

So i'm confused. Pardon me but im learning quick. This 09 TC is the first real car i've had to play around with. Im on the HIDEXTRA website, Are these the most highly recommended ones of TC owners or are their others with high marks or affordable price. Someone said here, don't need the relay harness? What do you I need to get then? And i'm reading on the bulbs too but i'm not sure what will get me in trouble with the law, if any will. Thanks for the help! Just installed fog lights recommended from this site off ebay, they work well for a month now, now is the HID ! havin fun w/ this car I must say =)

Are you sure about this? Where did you hear this from?

you only plug the relay into one oem harness.

Default hid relay?

bump for not needing a relay on the newer tc's?
why or why not?
only one person said that and the person after that quoted that that person knows nothing about Hids...
I have a 10 and another guy has an 09..
do we need relays? if not what will it hurt to install it?
what is the cutoff year?

...just helping out some others...

No relay needed for 09' + tc.. Not sure bout older models tho.. I have a 2010 tc an installed a HID kit in 15 mins.. It's real easy.. Both headlights has a plug where u can connect the ballast in to get power.. With that we don't need a relay to send power from the battery to the ballasts.. I got my HID kit for $70 btw.. If u guys like the deal let me know.. If a lot of people want it maybe u guys can get it for $60 each if I order it altogether.. I got an 8k, slightly bluish white.. I'm not sure but I think anything above 10k is illegal in CA..

without the relay harness your going to fry up your stock wiring from what ive always read. because it take more power to fire up the hids but once running it uses less. but the rush of power when firing every time will eventually burn up your stock wiring which is very expensive and time consuming to replace. if im wrong about this please support with facts that the stock wiring can be used other than you just saying it can because a plug fits into the stock harness.

Exclamation

hey guys,
I've installed the kit on my 2006 xA. Right side hid works perfectly but the left one doesnt wanna turn on. I've switched the ballasts, and it doesn't seem there is a problem with ballasts. Same thing I tried with the lamp itself. Could it possibly be that Im not getting enough power? Or do I need an HID kit relay?
thank you

Smile Regarding HIDextra Kit

Hello, I am looking to purchase my first set of HID set. On the website that you recommended...but I am not too sure what is the difference between projector type headlamps and without it. Do I really need a projector type headlamps? Does that change the oem look of my headlights? (I apologize I am not too familiar with modifying cars as I am fairly new to it and just started getting into modifying not too long ago. I am trying to self teach myself)

I am leaning towards the INTENSE WHITE 6000k HID set for my white scion tC 2008. Would you happen to know what bulb I would need?

Hope to hear from you!
- Joanne
