i have another problem now!! after i fixed my gauges i went for a test drive to see if they were okay. once i took off onto a somewhat bump road, i started to hear rattling from my gauges! i checked everything and everything was on tight. it seems to be coming from the back of the gauges where the white plastic cover attaches. has anyone come across this? if so, how do i fix it?

^^^^ I would suggest to take the gauges out, and see what the problem is.

Maybe take it apart again, and see if anything is loose/broken, etc...

I finally got around to doing this on my car. I LOVE it, its one of my favorite mods that I have done myself. I did blue guages and changed the D to blue. The needles arent the way I want them yet, I did red but its not coming through well, if I were to completely remove the paint, would the blue on non painted look okay?

^^^ No, non painted needles don't look very bright.

I would suggest you paint the needles white. Red needles with blue light doesn't look good. I have a picture, let me link it (I had a customer ask me to do that to his gauges, so I took a picture to show how bad it looked).

I painted mine red with blue LEDs, it came out a little better once I added a coat of white behind it. Here is a pic of one of mine painted that way:

That is with acrylic paint.

Here is neon blue painted with white behind that on blue gauges.. I like this one a lot:

^^ Yea, acrylic paint is best for the needles.

I noticed in the 2nd pic you did the HVAC **** ½ blue ½ red. I did that for a customer, but he never sent me pics. I didn't know what it looked like. It turned out nice!

I just did a local install Friday or Saturday with blue cold, red hot, and white dial. It looked nice! (now if only I can get some pics....)

Yeah, here is a better pic of mine that way, it is definitely a nice touch! I want to a white HVAC with that part 1/2 blue and 1/2 white, I think that would look nice as well.

Alright thanks on the white suggestion, I like how that looks. I'll do that once I get time to paint again.

How do you do that shifting blue to red center on the HVAC, I'm guessing you just painted it, but I wanted to make sure.

No painting involved. All just changing the LEDs on the hvac and gauges. For the **** there are 4 leds, you just change the second to blue and the third to red and you are good on that part.

I tried repainting my needles tongight, and for some reason, I can not get them to work at all. I used a white acryllic paint and did a light coat, but it was no where near as bright as yours were. I have no clue, and its really starting to bug me... I may just have to send the needles off for someone to paint. I've never been good at painting anyway, just electronics...
