It's a zipped file containing the assembly and disassembly threads. I only had acrobat reader, so I couldn't save it as a pdf. It's a microsoft printable file, so you should be able to open it with any windows computer.

This is awesome to have saved all the photos. It looks very similar to the rebuild videos for the MR2 trans that are on Youtube. You wouldn't happen to know if there is a rebuild kit or do you end up piecing each part through a stealership/website?

Unfortunately I don't. I just followed this guide for installing the Quaife LSD. I didn't replace anything else besides the two tapered roller bearings and race that are pressed onto the diff itself. The individual gears and synchros from Toyota are so pricey that I found them cost prohibitive.

I seemed to have solved my issue for now at least. In haste, I had put Valvoline 75w90LS into the trans because I was trying to get it on the road and I was being cheap. I has a bad 3rd grind, but that would be the first to go.
I took a chance and put MT90 in there (I was tempted to use Uncle Scotty's Cocktail from my NASIOC days) but the MT90 fixed (prolly bandaid) it for now and even reads on the bottle to be "less slippery" for synchro cone engagement.
No grinding up or down.

I was looking for a kit because these transaxles are relatively cheap, and seem rebuildable at my skill level. I'd like the practice. Perhaps its just best to buy one that aint broke if I have to...

Am I crazy or is there a speedo gear without a sender.... when this car gets its readings from the wheels?

LOL. Yes, there is a speedo gear with no sender. The differential (minus the ring gear), the transmission case and the speedo gear itself are the same units used on the 2AZFE Camry 5-speed (E351 trans). When I bought my e351 from the junkyard, it did indeed have a speed sender which bolted to the case and meshed with the plastic speedo gear. The tC trans has a block-off plate bolted where the sensor would normally go.

Seems like a waste, but perhaps they just installed it on all differentials, not knowing which car it was destined for. It's just a hunk of fiber reinforced plastic.

Oh, and regarding MT90, I did switch to that (from OEM) several years ago with my original trans. It worked well, although it didn't like the cold Northeast weather too much. I just recently switched to MT85,
which I have heard good things about (I through it was basically a mix of MTL and MT90, but I forget). So far, so good. Let's see how it does when the temps really drop.

I know it's a thread bump but there is some really great info here for DIY transmission stuff.

All the photos are broken and I was hoping that OP or someone else might have them saved somewhere.

I'm to the point of removing the 5th gear clutch and I could really use some visual help on where the best pull points are for the gear puller.

Did you try the link I posted? It should download a pdf with all the pictures. I saved it from when I installed the Quaife LSD back in the day
