Three new models! If that's not something to get excited about, I don't know what is.

Ward's Auto spoke with Scion VP Doug Murtha about the future of the brand at the New York Auto Show. Scion had vehicles at the show (you might remember the xB and FR-S release series they debuted) but nothing completely new. That'll change next year.

"There's no intention to radically shift the direction of the brand," says Murtha. "These aren't midcycle refreshed of anythign in the lineup. They are three major changes." Doesn't that get your pace up a little bit?

New models sound good to me. I think this next auto show should be very interesting.

 

I really hope Scion brings something to the table with a V-6 or V-8. I’d even take a factory Supercharger or Turbo option for the 4 bangers we already got. Who knows, maybe they’ll give us a boosted V-6 Scion in this next line up! That last 1 is a real stretch though. Doubt Scion will ever give us a factory boost option again after the 05-06 TRD (Vortech) Supercharger tC phase.
Scion says they want to target the younger crowd but they don’t realize that a majority of the younger crowd want to go fast! Whether that’s with a bigger displacement engine or a boosted inline 4 is up to the individual’s personal taste. Scions horsepower target should be around 250, maybe even 300ish IMO.
