It sucks how since this website was sold, its competely stagnant. No insider info from Darrel, no contests, no love at all
I was January last year, but my car has changed, I was hoping to have another calander with my ride in it

I know is too late now, BUT maybe we can put together something among us to have one for next year ? Im sure Turbo Wax could love to be part of that ? heck we can ask all the sponsors to see if they could like to participate ? Just an idea

I would deffinetly like to help out, maybe I will contact 12 site sponsors and see if they will sponsor a month each.
Split the cost of the calander amongst the sponsors, and in return they get there name above the car for each month!!!
With 12 companies doing it, and charging selling calanders, I am sure it wouldnt cost the spnsors much at all!!!
I will do some research and find 12 site sponsors, find the cost of the caanders and all, would you be in for it?
This would be for 2009 obviously!!!

I am searching online for companies that make professional quality calanders, last years were cheapos!!!
We would have to do it as a contest and either allow the public to choose, or allow the 12 sponsors to each choose the car they want under their banner!

I imagne if I could get it planned by say april. Contest in may-june. Edit in July. Prebuy in August, print in order in september. Ship in November.

should we ask first the person that was doing them, as a courtesy before we get ahead of ourselfs ?

We could do something volume-independant, like Lulu.com, where they don't need to be printed in bulk, in advance.

I would like to see us offer a downloadable version too, like the '07.

Wow, thats the place that I found. I think I am going to order one from them tomorrow. My wife could use a calander, and I have plenty of pics. I want tomake sure we are getting something quality.
I wsnt to happy with the quality last year!!
And a downloadable version would be fairly simple.

If 50 are ordered at a time, that is under $10 a calander. And with sponsors paying to advertise, I think I could keep it below $7 a calander. I would have o do alot of mailing, so I need to take that into account.
Im going to look through the site sponsors and email them this week, to judge interest. Also going to email scion and see if they want to get in on it.
Anyone has a clue of the going rate for an advertisement for something like this? I want to have a ballpark to tell the sponsors.
I was thinking a banner uner the picture, the width of he page, probably around 2 inches tall.
Turbowax, what would you (a sponsor) be willing to pay? (PM ME the answer please)

Sent an email to the site staff:
Hows it going?
Last year there was a Scion Life calander. It was awesome and a good thing for the community. (Plus I was choosen for it )
Well we have notied there wasnt a 2008 calander. I am wondering if there are plans for an 09 calander?
If there isnt, I am interested in doing one on my own, for the site. They would be professionally sourced and funded by help from the site sponsors, if they are willing to do so. It would be a Scion Life calander, with that stated on the cover. Each month would have a car from the site, choosen through a contest to get more people to the site. And each month would have an advertisement from the contributing site sponsors.
There is a thead discusing it:

Thank you in advance.
