Posting Pictures Problems
Is anyone else having trouble posting pictures? Everytime I try to upload a picture, a message appears saying I havn;t selected any files for uploading when in fact, I have. Let me know how to correct this problem because I have tried everything I can think of.
I'm doing it from my profile page using the picture loader tool in the bottom left side of the page. I click the browse button, select the picture to upload, and the file appears in the little box, then I click the upload button. It looks like it is working for 30 seconds to a minute then the error message pops up. I'm confused as hell, and have some nice pictures to post of my car. PLease help.
possible problems:
1. are your files too big?
2. are you using DSL or Dial Up internet connection? This will be an issue if you're uploading a large sized pix
3. are your pictures in GIF or JPEG format? I believe SL ony accepts those two formats
hmm, can't think of any more possible issues. 30 sec is a long time to upload a pic!...bump, let you know if i can think of something else bro.

Alright, I finally figured out how to post some pics. Here are the steps I took, they might not be the best but I got pictures up.
Step one: Convert the picture to a GIF format. To do this, you open the picture with Paint, and save the picture as a name ( i recomend using a different original name or altering it in some way so the two pictures aren't confused in later steps) but before hitting save, go to the bottom of the save window and select the drop down box label SAVE AS TYPE: and select the GIF format. Once saved, it's on to step two.
Step two: Resize the Picture. To do this, go to where you saved the new picture format. Right click on the thumbnail view. Select resize picture on the new menu.
Step three: Resize the Picture step two. Now here is where you have some options. There are four preset picture sizes. Large, Medium, Small, and Pocket PC sizes. If you want to hit advanced, you can also create your own image size and not create a duplicate but smaller copie. These options are up to you to play with, however, I have had success using the Pocket PC size.

Email me one of the photos that you are having a problem with and I will figure out why it isn't working: darren@scionlife.com
