So I couldn't figure it out, I put everything back to normal.

If anyone could figure it out let me know and I'll give it another try.

Well I took another stab at it last night and figured out what I did wrong. When I cut the black wire that was going to the switch I reconnected it with the wire to the relay but also keep the other end from the factory wiring. So it seemed like I just added the wire to the relay without cutting it from the factory harness. So when I cut it, it worked fine. I did blow a few fuses but all is good.

I also decided to use the green wire from the center wire harness instead of the power to the cig lighter.

Thanks for checking though.

I am new at this DIY but i thought the 04-06 Scion xB's came prewired for fog lights.

If this is true why is there splicing of the wires here is it for bypassing the Fog light toggle Switch that comes with the OEM Fog lights?

Yes the fog lights come pre-wired but what this dose is give you control of when the fog lights come on. And yes you are kind of bypassing the factory switch but you still use it to turn the fogs on and off.

The factory wiring only allows the fogs to come on when the headlights are on. This cheap and easy mod allows you to use the factory switch to have them on all the time like DRLs and other options.

Bringing this back from the dead for a question. Could you not fuse tap into a fuse that turns on with the ignition and use a fuse instead of running a relay? Doesn't the relay just prevent too many amps from going through the switch, in which the fuse, in my situation, would do the same? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I don't see the need for a relay. Could be missing something lol.

I realize you posted this in 2008 and it is now 2017. If you're still around, how do I get to see the pics? It seems like you posted this thread with pictures that can't be seen now. Anything I can do to be able to see them?

Can someone help me? From my understanding
ignition wire to 87
Switch wire to 85
grounds to 86 and 30
my parking light fuse keeps blowing after many different hookups. ive tried so many different combos and tried looking up diagrams for this relay online.

First, let's verify you've got originating ends of wires connected properly. Disconnect all wires from relay and measure:

1. ground#1 - resistance to chassis ground, ohms = ???

2. ground#2 - resistance to chassis ground, ohms = ???

3. ignition wire - volts = ???
4. light switch ON, ignition wire - volts = ???
