"C-Pillar Storage with Net for xB 08" Replacement
I didn't feel like spending $80+ on two small holders on the C-Pillar, nor did I want to drill any more holes in my interior, so I made this:

can they actually hold anything?
|
Yup, their heavy duty velcro that I had to use for a class project. And there's a good 2 inches of it too. The netting is actually made of plastic so it does expand, but still flexible.
|
whatever floats your boat...
|
you should try to paint / get a velcro color that matches the panels. its better then having empty sockets though.
I like it. |
I like the creativity! Someone should make a little compartment with a plastic latch for that, or some kind of modular system for holding things, like speakers, or took kit, or something. Theres an idea! :)
|
i thought about getting the nets, but i have no clue what i would put in there anyway.lol

I think it'd be more useful if there were nets/doors on the lower cubbies, behind the floor pockets. Those areas are only useful for fiberglassed sub boxes otherwise.
Besides, I want to mount my speakers in the upper ones. |
Looks good! A custom mod for only $0.80. An excellent place to store the gerbal when I take him out for a ride.
|
I think it's a pretty nice job you did. highly functional and gives anyone a place to put small stuff. Maybe the little first aid kit Scion gave us would store there or dvds that the kids want to bring along if you have a player. clean job! Good work.
P.S. where did you find that material for the opening? |
so tell me where i can get all this stuff....and some blue spraypaint so i can continue my theme? also wahtsa cheap replacement for the cargo liner...poo is like 90 dollars...
|
Nice Job.

I mainly use it to store cleaning rags and material that I always use, but don't want people to see. It's easier than hiding it under the cargo floor.
The velcro you can probably find it at any hardware store. The plastic netting is called "plastic canvas" and I found at an arts and crafts store (11 x 13). I just cut it into a proper shape to fill the space. DJ_FroZone - You can use a throw for a cargo liner (get it at any department store). I have a black one that I bought for 5 bucks. Its kind of big so I'm actually thinking of cutting it in half to have a spare. |
"throw" ?????
|
It's a type of small blanket. Here's a couple of links I found for some cheap ones:
http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_1...?keyword=throw Just do a search on Amazon for "Throw Blankets". There's plenty to choose from. |
