Default Time to move on

So lately I've really been fiending for something faster, better looking, rwd and more grown-up. Everytime I drive my box I always feel like some high school kid. Maybe it's because I have to pass a high school on my way to work everyday. So I've decided that once I get back from the desert I'm paying off the box and trading it in on slightly used G35.

The box never let me down except for that whole windshield cracking for no reason thing. It was exactly what I needed at the time but now things have changed. Maybe I'm having my mid-mid-life crisis.

So goodbye box and scionlife.

Mid life crisis at 25 ...hmmm...Sounds like a really good time to have it have a nice car at the right age instead of having a huge lifted truck at 40 trying to impress fresh out of high school girls :D

Thought about it. Don't like the look of the new one and the 1st gen is to expensive to turbo. It's also not a six-speed. I do a lot of road trips.

the IS is ugly , overpriced and bleh. it is fast but g35 pwns it.

. and why would you want a turbo on a daily/ road trip car. yeah they can be reliable but it's also more hassle.

I'd say keep the box but g35 is a dream of mine as well.

i do love the xB's styling though.

watch out buying used g35's they're mostly high mileage commuter cars or were thrashed by young drivers with too much money to care about the car.

I have a deposit down on the G37 and will keep the box as well. I'm a car nut and buy what I like and drive them all. I'm never selling this box!

The g35 is really, really sweet, but how much are you really going to get for the box? Can you have both? It'd be nice to have a project car, wouldn't it?

i dont see how you feel like a high school kid in the box.

The majority of people i see in the box are OLD! seriously old people. ive seen maybe a few younger "kids" in the box. I think you are psyching yourself into this so you can get a new g35 instead.

which is fine ;-)

but the box shouldnt make you feel young cuz its the new senior citizen favorite aside from the cadillacs and lincolns they have trouble driving and parking.

just say it...i want a new g35 and trade in the box for it.

you dont need an excuse :-)

Darn near exact "ditto" here!
And I'll second the "non-conformist" remark as well!

Faster? "Faster, Daddy, faster!" That's real grown up.

Better looking? Caring about what other people think is what's highschool.

RWD? Because it's so... what? Practical? More grown-up thinking, you bet.

If you look at the number of actual grown-ups who own xB's, I'll bet you'll realize that whatever your reason for wanting a change, being more "grown up" isn't it.

But good luck with whatever it is.

Faster? Yep definately want it. I don't really like waiting 2-3 minutes just to get up to my cruising speed.

Better Looking? Yes in my personal opinion the g is just pure automotive sexiness. The box is not so much. Sure it looks good sometimes.

RWD? Because that's what I've always driven. This is the first fwd I've ever had. I prefer the handling and driving characteristics of rwd. It's what I'm used to and what I like.

I want a G because that's what I like and what I want and I can afford it. I like my box and could drop all types of money into it, but at the end of the day it still wouldn't be what I want. If I could afford an M5 I'd go and buy that. So don't try and tell me why I should or shouldn't trade in the box.

gotta admit tho for whatever reason one may want or like it the g35 exudes class and sporty luxury , the xB doesn't it shouts fun , economy.

you can be grown up and enjoy speed and handling and rwd.

look, all you older aged people, i understand where he is comming from. you guys have already HAD your "pushes your head backwards dangeriously fast" cars, but us younger kids have not. although it may not be more "mature" like he is thinking, he is young as am I and we yearn for fast cars. FAST. i love my box, but flooring the box is nothing compared to a sports car... or even a 6 cyl! we picked this car for reasons, but if we want to move on to something more *****-y understand; were young men, its all about inpressing people!

all about impressing people? if that's a main goal in a vehicle purchase the purchaser should be slapped.

a way a car impacts(impresses) others is an added bonus not a main factor.

allthough I suppose some guys need a fancy car to get girls or gain respect.

to me my cars are what i want. or at least what I strive them to be. and why do I do the things I do to them? for PERSONAL satisfaction.

to say I earned a nice car , to live in a lap of luxury , to know I built a 1984 toyota pickup into a drift vehicle , to know I built a car HOW I WANT IT.

then again these are all just my opinions.

And that's as honest and straightforward a statement anybody's ever going to hear. Nothing particularly "grown-up" about it, but it can't be accused of self-delusion.

Then why did you puy up a survey on if others would do it?
For that matter, why even bother posting with the survey knowing others will give their oppinions if you don't want them.

I say do what makes you happy.

So you've never asked anybody for advice on something that's going on with your life. People ask for other opinions all the time even though they know what they're already going to do.

I could say I'm selling all my possesions to go help penguins in Antarctica, and then ask you guys should I go to the north or south pole. But it wouldn't matter because there are no penguins in the north pole. People just like to ask for other opinions because every now and then someone can spit out a nugget of useful advice.
