whats the difference between the two on 17's?


i dont know anything about wheels.

225 are a slighty Wider than 215...

you will have taller sidewall, wider contact area, taller gearing (transmission), more weight.

They are just 10mm wider than the 215 (215+10 = 225). If you are putting any tires on the stock rims put 225's on. I did with mine and it helps to cut down on rim rash and it has more contact area

go to supraforums.com and click on tehnical...you will find a couple different software that will tell you exact the different and also how your speedo is impacted..mostly faster than oem tire/rims.

how would the speedo be effected when the tire is only wider? its not like the tire is taller...i mean one spin should be the same right ?

The diameter is different between the two different size tires. A spin would be the the circumference of the tire, and one spin would take longer to get around if the diameter was larger. Which it is. Usually speedometers have a range of 3% variance to allow for different size tires. The link that justatc put up would help in showing you how much of a difference from stock (215/45-17) size would be.
