Default I'm nervous... find out tomorrow if my car is totalled

I have mixed feelings about it.

I kinda want it to be b/c I'm afraid it'll never be the same, but I love it so much!

The guy that caused the accident was just fine (of course).

I had a head contusion, whiplash, and I'm bruised all over from being bounced around in my seat, but I'm okay.

I have submitted a complaint with Scion because my seatbelt didn't lock (well, until my head hit the top of the car twice). People tell me I should sue, but I don't want to do that, but if a recall is needed, I definitely want them to be aware!

My car doesn't really look horrible considering but it's undrivable. It will go into gear but won't move. The area around my front tire was completely bent upwards too (not just the bumper). The guy basically slid down the whole side of my car. My poor baby!

Sorry, I tried to take pics with my phone, but it won't let me email them...

Oh, and if it is totalled, I'll totally be getting another and it will also be Azure Pearl!

However, I will definitely make the dealership have the airbags and seatbelt checked.

BTW, the airbags also didn't deploy, but I don't know where the sensors are, so that might be okay. I hit right below the headlight, then just went all down the side of the car

I'll try to find out where they are and what exactly would cause them to deploy

be happy if it will be totalled, noone wants to drive a car after accident, because it wouldnt be as new, later on you might have problems.

My airbags didn't deploy either in my wreck a couple months ago, and that was even after I got that SAB recall done. Ohwell.

Hope it's totaled for your sake.

Yeah, I saw the pics from the person that just recently posted they "finally got hit" and bodywise, mine looks much worse. I don't, however, have a wheel dismounted from my car, but mine most likely has damage under the hood. If theirs cost $6,000, mine probably will be totalled. My baby!

for a total loss, usually what they do is evaluate how much it would cost to fix the car, then evaluate how much they would get for selling the parts. if it's going to cost more to fix it they probably will just cut you a check. in some circumstances you can pay a little additional money to have them fix it if you happen to be really attached to your car-- but i would talk to your insurance rep about that.

sorry to hear about it, i got rearended by a drunk a few months ago and it is really not fun.

Well, it's not totaled. It's estimated at $7400 for repairs.

Part of what they have to do:
Replace driver's door
Replace pretty much any panel attached to the driver's side and fix the hood
Replace the subframe(?) and axle
Replace 1 wheel and tire and align it + other stuff to do w/ suspension
Fix my dash (it popped out a little)
+ a few more things I can't remember the rep said

They want me to pay a betterment fee of $81.00 for replacing an old tire with a new one. I was planning on buying new tires next month anyway, so I'm going to try to get them to let me buy my own tires and put them on. They said the potenzas are $224 (find that hard to believe as bad as they suck) and were worn down to the marker for needing to be replaced soon.

May 22 is when I should get my baby back! One day after my b-day!

Hey tc_girl, congrats on getting your car fixed and getting it back. Glad you're ok, and I hope your injuries heal well. Where are you located?

Had a ton of ____ on my car replaced when I bit the curb (not at fault), still drives fine. Unless you damage the frame, it will probably be fine.

You know where 285 E & W come together to go up 75 N? Well in that area, some guy got cut off and he lost control, did a 180 and came right for me. It was early Sat morning. Talk about a wake up call!

ahh thats terrible hope you didn't get too banged up and hope your car comes back looking as sexy as it originally did.

I had something similar to that happen to me like a year ago I was driving home, accept luckily i didn't get hit, this guy's wheel flew off, instead of getting cut off, and his car did a 180 and i'll never forget the guy was looking directly at me and then he slammed into the guard rail and this all happened on a bridge. I was freaking out but luckily he was alright his car wasn't though, it was this sweeeeeet BMW M3 '05 edition.
