View Full Version : Header Coating? Is painting black do-able? BrownDogg 05-17-2007, 03:45 AM I have a DC Sports header but I want it to be black in color. Does anyone know how or where I could have it painted black with heat resistent paint that will stand up to the heat of the header? I want a flat black or something similar. Not glossy at all. I had my header (alpha werkz) custom ceramic coated with a polished finish (pics in profile) which ran me $200 (because i had a poished finish). look around ur area for a powdercoating shop, they typically do ceramic coating as well. call around and get quotes. but i dont suggest painting it tCizzler 05-17-2007, 04:36 PM Yeah definately don't paint it. I painted my stock header with that wonderful dupli color high temp 5K degree paint. It didn't even last 5 minutes. As soon as i pulled out of the driveway, i smelled something weird and looked under the hood. The paint had burned off before i even got off of my street.
