Default Ebay Spoiler

Just received the Ebay spoiler from seller MBNational $120.00. It was protected & boxed well & the color match seems accurate

This spoiler is the single vs double screw mount so hope its sturdy enough

The seller notes 3 coats of paint & clearcoat. Will install this weekend & post the pics

Install went well. I kept the thick gasket & it does gap the spoiler from the hatch but it looks believable IMO. Would buy the Ebay spoiler again

looks sharp. i've been debating for years whether or not to get one. the price shipped and painted is unreal.

I've had the same one for a few years now. For the price it's awesome, but the single mount on each end makes it pretty weak. It will hold up just fine as long as you don't mess with it.

Also note that the "gasket" won't make full contact and shrinks over time. I filled both of my mounting holes with high strength exterior silicone caulking as a precaution and I've never had any leaks.

i worry that it might rattle or crack with my sub set up. i've got an ebay gift certificate i'm dying to use and i'm worried of drilling holes then not having it work out. i wish it would be possible to mount it with just double sided tape but i sincerely doubt it.

I was concerned about the single screw mount but its seated pretty firmly. I will retorque in time

Dont think just a double sided tape mount would work. You could certainly use both if concerned

If you bought the same spoiler as I did, it comes w/2 white alignment strips (can be seen in the first pic above)

Let me know if you have the same template & Ill give you a few more tips on the install

Well, the instructions would have helped

  • There should be 2 plastics black plugs in the bag w/the bolts
  • Take the white strips & remove the adhesive backer & stick on the mounting side of spoiler at the mounting hole
  • Take the black plugs & stick them in the mounting hole over the strip
  • Take the spoiler & place it on the trunk. It can really only go in one place. Its should nestle in place. Take a level & place on spoiler to make sure its straight. XB must be on level surface of course. Take masking tape & place if over the spoiler & the XB lid to temp mount. Step back & look at it from all angles until you are satisfied its straight
  • Tape the white strips to the XB lid. This will give you the drill points
  • Make any changes to ensure its straight & level
  • Carefully remove the spoiler ensuring the white strips stay on the truck lid
  • Take a sharpie & mark the hole locations
  • Take off the white strips.
  • I would measure the sharpie marks using a tape measure to ensure they are located evenly at the roof line. Also, take the tape measure & measure the spoiler mounting holes side to side & make sure they match the sharpie marks on the trunk lid
  • Once your sure the marks are correct take a punch or drill bit and tap on sharpie mark
  • Open the truck lid & remove the plastic plugs on the lid
  • The right side is fine to drill but the left side has a harness you need to protect. Take a zip tie & tie the harness out of the way before you drill
  • Take a small drill bit (If I had a scanner I would send you the instructions) & use as starter hole.
  • Measure the bolt dia & use a drill bit of the same size or just a bit larger. Will send you the drill sizes tonight if you want
  • Drill away. I used some touch up paint to protect the raw metal
  • After drilling & painting its pretty straight fwd after that

Heres a how to w/pics (different template & ours is only one bolt)

I got the same one on eBay and installed it today, took about 2 hours with a helping hand from the wife to hold it in place. I recommend this item, for the fraction of the price vs OEM.
