I have no use for the satellite radio since I have an ipod that's free to listen to so I am considering taking the antenna off and taking out the receiver. The space under the seat could be better used for an amp. Also, the antenna is a little unsightly. How hard is it to remove the antenna? I'm sure the receiver is easy, but I would rather not ruin the paint by botching the antenna removal. If anyone has done this and has some tips please share. Thanks.

 

It depends on how it's mounted. Most satellite antennas have a magnetic base. If they took the easy way to install it you just have to lift up and it's off. If they taped it on, you remove it like you would the emblems. Heat up the base with a hair dryer or heat gun and either try and peel it up or use fishing line to cut throught the tape.

 

Thanks! When I get the chance on a hot day I'll see what I can do. The wiring also worries me. Don't wan to screw anything up. One of these days I'll tackle it.
