View Full Version : Did anyone get the overhead console?? Pics?? ASHEPICKLE 05-21-2007, 12:20 AM Anyone know what this looks like?? OldYeller 05-21-2007, 06:50 AM The "overhead console box" is listed on the back cover of the xB accessory book--but there is no picture in the book and no listing on the scion.com site........... XBFred 05-21-2007, 06:55 AM yeah, I was wondering that too. Did they have one for the old one and it was a carry over? toyotaisme 05-22-2007, 01:29 AM Here it is. http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r217/toyotaisme/2008%20xb/overhead2.jpg http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r217/toyotaisme/2008%20xb/overhead.jpg http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r217/toyotaisme/2008%20xb/overhead1.jpg Max 05-22-2007, 01:05 PM yeah, I was wondering that too. Did they have one for the old one and it was a carry over? No, Scion did not offer one for gen1. mmoeller 05-22-2007, 03:02 PM I too got the overhead console. Just picked up the BBC auto last night. The console isn't the prettiest thing on the inside but is looks nice all closed up and is perfect for holding shades and whatnot. Gotta have it IMHO. Aaron_GTO 05-22-2007, 04:14 PM Could some post some pics? I was thinking about getting it but have not seen one. toyotaisme 05-23-2007, 05:47 PM pics are up. mikemann 05-23-2007, 06:10 PM that thing looks huge! Is the center peice with acrylic your lights now? Could you take a shot father back? XBFred 05-23-2007, 06:14 PM how much? how hard to install? Looks cool toyotaisme 05-23-2007, 07:47 PM The part is $279 installed.. mat18 05-23-2007, 07:51 PM looks good. XBFred 05-23-2007, 08:04 PM Ooh $279 isn't bad at all, does it have Homelink???? If not, it needs it. Probably be an easy add too toyotaisme 05-24-2007, 06:06 PM Ooh $279 isn't bad at all, does it have Homelink???? If not, it needs it. Probably be an easy add too no Homelink mikemann 05-24-2007, 08:54 PM what is the clear part in the middle? Looks like a scion logo there? Also are the stock front lights covered up now with the forward hatch? It looks like they are still there in the one picture just covered. More info/details please! Djbombsquad 05-26-2007, 06:25 AM Could I fit a mac mini in there? Now that we do not have that option we used to wtih the original xb. roXor_boXor 05-28-2007, 03:10 PM toyotaisme thanks for posting pics since there seem to be no others. I think I want this, but I would love to see a clearer full view of it. Maybe from the side outside the drivers door looking in or something? Anyway hate to sound picky when you have been so nice about getting pics up for lots of things. mikemann 05-29-2007, 05:20 AM I got to see this upclose today on a visit to a dealer. This thing is nothing more than a sunglasses storage. It is one sunglass storage bin in the front and a double in the rear. The front interior lights are recessed just past where the front sunglasses holder closes. It looks like it just installs around the factory interior lights The clear acrylic thing you see int he picture with the scion logo is a clear cover that is part of the second rear sunglasses cubby that is for holding a picture/photograph. All in all I kinda thought it was lame. It's nice to have more storage, but they could have done so much more with this....ie why do you need the rear sunglasses storage??? As others have mentioned homelink support would have been awesome or if they just gave you room for something *other* than sunglasses. I am a tall, big guy - 6'2" and I was concerned about how this may have impeded vision and it really does not at all. I don't think it would be very noticeable at all driving wise. When the rear sunglasses hatch is dropped, since it is a "double" it is huge and in the way of everything though. I think for the price and what you get IMHO it's maybe not worth it. I think this could be one of those things the aftermarket could be all over and come up with something much better. Much like the gen 1 arm rests. Hope this helps everyone! BunnyBox 05-30-2007, 02:44 PM I would love to have this, but I do think it is a little pricey. Will wait to see what comes out in aftermarket. Is the back fold down big enought for a small cd holder? mikemann 05-30-2007, 06:55 PM maybe, in the top sunglasses holder. It's smaller than it looks. I sort of wish they made a half version. One that ended at the lights. The whole rear thing is pointless to me and the way it swings down it's really in the way. |
