I removed my ceter console today to fix my tv and i found two random unused connectors. One was by the HVAC and the other by the e-brake sensor. Does anyone know what these are used for or what wires run to them?

 

Unused? Sounds like somethings unplugged. I've had my center console out a few times and have never seen anything just sitting around uplugged.

Sounds like one is the cig lighter and the other is the 12v outlet in the armrest... maybe.

 

probably for the iPod hookup.

the connector behind the hvac goes into the iPod HU.. and the one coming out by the parking brake area is where you connect another wiring harness that goes into the armrest area.

 

^ But would that cable be there if you didn't order the iPod HU? It's not like Scion to prewire anything, I've noticed.

 

actually... yea.

all '06+ has that wiring prewired into the car.

just like all of them being prewired for the factory fogs.... very plug and play.

 

Ah... that's lame then. Like in that other thread of the guy asking about the sub - that's definitely not prewired.

I was wondering the same thing this weekend and just figured it was for the stock HU...I have a big plug sitting behind the HVAC.

 

I know about the plugs for the stock HU and the HVAC but the ones i found were like taped to the side out of the way and i know i did not tape it to the side.

 

^^ yup... definitely the iPod connectors.
