Default Dealer said cant align it with 18's on ???? wtf

Ok i dropped off my tC last night to get it lowered w/ trds and aligned. I called to make sure they got it ok...They said they can lower it but not align it w/ my 18s on. The 18s wont fit on the machine? They need the 17s. I find this crazy as, at a normal alignment shop, they align all kinds of cars. What are they talking about? Or are they just trying to maybe cover their asses, so they can say we cant align it with aftermarket rims basically? This will suck, cause then I will have to put on my 17s again, go back to the dealer, then reswap the rims again...I might try and get some $ back, and take it somewhere else for an alignment? what do u suggest?

Take it somewhere else and have it aligned.

You should wait a couple of weeks before you have it aligned anyway because you need to wait for your drop to settle down or you will have to align it again.

My dealer in Sacramento has the same problem. My rep that I bought the car from put on 18s on his tC, took it back to the shop for alignment, and was told the rack they have won't fit the 18s.

I think they're telling you the truth if they told an employee the same thing.

well i called and they didnt get it done, guessing because they were busy and just worked me in...this sucks! They did agree to take off my rims, put on my 17s if i drop them off, then align it, then put my custom rims back on...but how major is letting the springs settle to align it? they said its usually almost right on spec even after they lower it anyways ?

So what your dealer is saying is that if you upgrade from 17" to 18", they don't alight the car? That's crazy. The dealer shouldn't offer upgrades they can't deal with.
