Default Smoke from Exhaust, Need help troubleshooting

Well, I had my turbo replaced by Turbonetics about a month ago.

After replacing it, I ran for about 1k miles pretty soft and did an oil change just for safety. I have been running pretty well for the past couple weeks.

This saturday, I took my car to my local dyno shop. They loaded it up on the dyno and started their runs. During the first run I was standing behind the car and noticed lots of exhaust smoke, Mostly a Blue/Gray exhaust. At the top of the 2nd/3rd gear, my exhaust backfired and a big shot of Black Smoke came out for a moment (Assuming this is a Rich Condition, It was about 10.2AFR)

During the 2nd pull, I noticed when he was revving the engine at Mid RPMs (3-4k) when he would let off puffs of blue/gray smoke would come out.

Now when I turn my car on after about 2min from a cold start, I have a lot of Condensation or Water coming out of the exhaust, When I hold my hand in front of it I get little water splashes with either Carbon Deposits or Oil in it... After about 5-6min after cold start I start getting white/gray puffs of smoke... The exhaust mostly smells like Fuel.

After the dyno day, I noticed my AFRs at idle were more in the range of 15.5-16.5 rather than 14.7-15.0 which it was before the dyno pulls.

Any ideas for what to troubleshoot first would be appreciated. I have had a blown seal before and it was a lot more blue smoke than this... And it smelled of oil rather than fuel.

Thanks!

if you had a blown seal before, then it could be nothing more that some leftover oil in your exaust burning off. i wouldnt worry to much. keep a close eye on it though to see if it gets any worse.

also what it may be is the boost at high rpm's, blowing through your pcv, and then into your intake, bringing oil with it. get an oil catch can and see if that helps. or just undo the hoses running from the crankcase to your intake, and intake mani. just make sure to cover the hole on your intake, and the vaccum line coming off the intake mani, so you dont have a vaccum leak.

yeah whatever it is, ur burning oil. Check it out and make sure that u don't have any current leaks...could just be from a prior leak and it's just getting rid of the excess oil by burning it. Again, get it checked or check it urself...don't just hope it will go away because it might not

Well, I did have some smoke after installing the new turbo due to oil in the exhaust from the blown seal. That went away a few days after the prior install... Then it just came back last week.

I believe the fact that I do not have a catch can setup could be causing this as it really seems to happen after a lot of high revs.

If I take the breather tube(Crankcase-Intake) off of the intake and plug the intake hole... Can anything bad happen there?

Have you been running a turbo timer with your kit? I'm on my 2nd turbo from turbonetics as well as my brother. We were told to run our TT's at a min. of 4 minutes sometimes 5 with turbonetics turbo because they are prone to blown turbo seals. Since then no smoke and its been about 6-7 months for me.

Even though Turbonetics does not recommend an oil pressure restrictor I would use one anyway since the TC oil pressure gets up to 85 PSI at times. I also blew out my seals on my Turbonetics turbo.......

So is this the case with ANY T-Netics turbo? Or only the turbo's that come with their kits? Cause this definately seems like a re-accuring issue. i'd like to know before I decide to upgrade to a T-Netics turbo. GL with everything bro!

If I were you I would go with one of the Garrett GT series turbos. GT-3071R or GT-3076R. They are also water cooled.

Yea, i've got a Garrett right now. I was looking to upgrade to a larger turbo in the future and was weighing all my options. I'm leaning that way as well.

How much do you think this would set me back? and How much modification is involved in a switch like this?
