Default 2008 xB armrest

Does anyone else think the armrest sucks? It is skinny (even though there appears to be enough room to have made it thicker). It is a little too high (I am 5'10"). The rest molded on the door is a lot lower than the fold down, so it isn't matched up well.

I think an aftermarket one will appear. Possibly a snap on replacement. It would be nice to have a thicker one that is a little lower (use the same pivot but drop the end of the rest lower).

The only thing I don't like about the interior of my new xB is the skinny driver's side armrest and the fact that the passenger seat has no armrest.

I really hope someone makes a replacement armrest for the driver's seat and a matching armrest for the passenger seat.

when i test drove the new xB, i think the armrest was just right...plus i think i got so used to driving the Gen 1 w/o the armrest that i didn't really use it too

Arm rest blows...to skinny and it feels like it will break soon.

It needs one big one for both passengers.

It seems to get in my way when you drive the stick shift, but that could just be me.

Please if you are in the union County New Jersey area, Contact Zeta Products and ask for angelo. He has posted here that he is looking for a Scion 08 to see the interior and maybe get some measurements re: a new armrest for the 08 xb

Thanks for the plug rsw1124.

We finally got an 08 at our local dealer and I had a chance to check out the armrest. I cannot beleive Toyota would offer something like this! It is too narrow to be of any use and there is no padding whatsoever!

We have a 08 xB coming in next Tuesday (courtesy of Noodles5666) to fit a new prototype armrest. What we will be offering is about 2-1/2 inches wide. On top of that, the armrest will be way softer and a lot beefier!

Will post on this thread with updates!

Wow, I haven't been back to this forum in a couple of months but I came back for one reason ... to find an aftermarket XB '08 armrest. I really can't stand this armrest anymore.

Please let me know if someone finds an aftermarket replacement that makes the armrest AT LEAST twice as thick.

Ditto 6'0 tall and perfect to an extent.

It seems that not a whole lot of thought was put into the armrest and the center console lid and its compartment (too small). The rest is very flimsy when squeezed.

There is room for Scion to upgrade it without major work to seat or console. Just have to watch the companies mentioned and Scion too for an improvement.

P.S. one armrest adds to Scion weirdness. one rest, center gauges, one backup. Strange company!

I wouldn't peg the one armrest thing as part of their weirdness. I had a 97 Honda CR-V in high school, it only had a driver's armrest. Though I do recall not hating it for being too damned thing. So that could be a "scion" thing. :-/

Thats the first thing i noticed when I test rode my xB. What a cheezy tiny skinny sad excuse of an arm rest! This has to win hands down as the narrowest arm rest ever made.
Please , help me . I am 6'2" and this thing is too short , too narrow and not padded well at all. Oh,by the way, I do LOVE the rest of my xB
