Can you tell me where you got those quotes from. Or if you have a number I could call. The cheapest I saw is 995 for the platnum protection. Those are exellent prices.

I would definately purchase it. 745 is not bad at all.

My 6 year 70K cost me $1024. I still thought it was worth it just based on previous purchases and the 36001 mile breakage. Also it gives me piece of mind for at least as long as I'm paying for the thing.

Call Troy Dietrich 413-772-0231 Greenfield, MA
Tell him "David Lynn" gave you his info. No I'm not making a dime, just helping a fellow Scion brother/sister out. He sells Toyota/Scion warranties.

That's not bad. I ran across the info a few months ago on the Tundra solutions site when I was looking to buy a new Tundra, which I decided to holf off. I called Troy today to see if he sold Scion warranties and he does.

Thanks David, I will call Troy to get the warranty from him. My dealer wanted 1875 for the same platnum warranty. Can you believe that.

The 7 yr 70k is only 10k miles a year---most drive more than that. I would go with the higher mileage package......

Depends on what you think you need. I drive about 8k a year and usually run out of time rather than hit the mileage limits on my car warranties. Unless there is some major design flaw in the new xB, you shouldn't need an extended warranty?

dealers aren't allowed to mark-up ANYTHING on Scions..including the warranty. Are you sure that's a Toyota's coverage and not an A/M company? Where I work, Platinum coverage w/ $0 deductible is $1380 for 7yr/100,000 mi and $995 for 7yr/75,000 mi. For those of you that drive a little more, the 6yr/100,000 mi is $1160.

There's not much mark up at your dealer on warranties.. That's what they want you to think...

How does Sparks Toyota sell parts for Scions so cheap on their internet site?

More money in Scions pocket.. Hey we all got to eat, but Scion makes their killing off the options and extra's.

I heard this same crap before from my local dealer, no haggle with Scion...There are other dealers willing to earn your business...I'm all about free enterprise...

It is genuine...Hey beautiful, Don't tell on the dealer and ruin it for the rest of us poor people.. Thanks

hey, I get strapped myself so no worries there! I'm not a tattle tale by any means. At the same token, though, if they are discounting the car, accessories, or warranties they are not Covenant Compliant. Scion comes in an audits our deals to see how much we charged for certain things, how many accessories were added, the age of the customer, etc. If they decide to pull a deal during their compliance review that states a different price, the dealer will lose allocation and a chance at the pool of cars you get a shot at based on your quarterly sales average. If they keep it up, eventually Scion may pull the franchise.

All I know is, I'm an employee, and when I'm writing up my own personal '08 tC, when I buy the VSA, it's the same price that anyone else would pay for it.

In case you didn't know, if you don't use the Platinum Warranty, ie, you make zero claims by the end of it's term you get ALL your money back....

I traded my 06 Toaster in on my 08 and they pro-rated my warranty, so I get the un-used portion back, it takes about six weeks...so for instance, if my warranty was for sixty months I will get 48 months worth back....
