We are ready to install the TRD lowering springs and the instructions say you need this
(2) Nut, front shock absorber – Toyota P/N 90080-17217
The instructions say to use new ones... why in the *$**$&(#@) don't they just put 2 fricken nuts in the box,,,,,,
anyone
because its toyota and if they know your going to use a dealership to install, then they figured they get more money that way. LoL Its all politics!! Its just for toyota to get more money! so you get not only screwed once, but twice!

yup that is wht we are doing. why loctite
it prevents it from getting loose! its another safety measure for piece of mind. its that blue or red stuff you see when you take out a new screw. you don't need it but why not. Good Luck!

i did monroe sensa-tracks at the same time as my springs and they came with new ones. its just as much work to do just the springs as it is to do springs+struts+shocks.
monroe doesn't sell shocks & struts for the xb yet (last i checked) so i used ones from the echo part# for strut is 71575 $68 each and shock part# 5870 $26 each.
the monroe sensa-tracks will make a world of difference for your ride. mine rides better then new, i would go as far as to compair it to a BMW. every aspect of driving has improved, i realy noticed it in corners and breaking big time.

I now know why they want 2 new nuts for the lowering springs.
the top center strut nut is a nyloc type nut, and typically you are suppose to use it only once. but I reused it. I was torqued and works fine. I guess a liablity thing with toyota.
