watching....interested in the tire pressure sensors as well. Granted, 05/06 has a different tire pressure monitor system than the 07/08

wherever that can mount your tires can do them.

just transfer the sensors, and you'll be fine.

07 tC here, swapped my wheels out the day I got it. Air sensors went into new wheels without a problem, no sensor faults or anything. Been problem free with them for about 10 months now.

how can you li8ghts not come on if you dont have tire sensors? if they dont come on, than how do you know if the sensors were ever transfered over correctly?

Any how, I had my sensors done at americas tires they said they just had to swap out the valve stems to the new tires because the sensors were attached to them?

anyhow, I have no low air pressure light, so Im assuming it went alright?

not true.

on 08s the TPMS is too large to fit with low profile tires. in thie case, you remove the sensor, and place them INSIDE of the spare tire. reason for this? because every sensor will read the same pressure, there for making you tire pressure warning light go off. Now the system wont be effective because its not reading the pressure on the tires on the car itself. but it tricks the system into thinking every tire has the same amount of pressure

but you get a donut for a spare thats not what they are programmed to right..so i would have to use one of my original tire/rim with a sensor..do i need all 4 on that one tire/rim in the trunk or just one for that trick to work?

the donut spare is fine. as long as all of the sensors are reading the same amount of pressure (which they would be in the one spare), your fine.

Yeah, just have a shop deflate the spare, take the tire off, toss them in the tire, put it back on the rim, pump it up with air, then do the reset instructions in the manual for the air warning system and you will be good to go.

just make sure you dont use the spare if you ever need to. cause you will damage all the sensors, and at about $110 per sensor... your looking at around $440 in sensors

Hmmm, you know what, I wonder if you can find one of these http://www.marathonind.com/Merchant2...136506FFsm.jpg that is small enough but will be able to hold say 15lbs of air and the sensors in it? You would be able to use your spare and have no light

If I had to do it, I'd find one small enough to fit in the wheel well with the spare under that board thing. Key being small enough lol.

They must be able to fit with low pro tires i mean the stock tires are low pro 17"s and if you upgrade through the dealership you can get enkei 18" and i'm sure they transfer or have tsp sensors in that 18" stock option or they wouldn't sell it..you think. I would hate to get a flat and cant use the spare because its packed with tsp sensors in it, its gotta be another way to transfer to new rims/tires

Hmmm well if the 08's are thicker and the person def. wants the TPMS to work right on their rims, they could just by the 07 sensors right? I know they have to be programmed into the monitoring system but I think the dealership can do that. Might be a tad expensive but if they want to keep that functionality and use their lowpro. tires then that seems like that would be what they need to do.

um . if the 2008 monitors do not work with low profile tires , WHY ARE THEY ON THE CAR ?????? Please enlighten us as to how stupid Toyota is . And thanks in advance
And to people that understand about this , I DO have to have the air let out of my new tires ( aftermarket ) to put these in correct ?
