Default xa/xb sub enclosure inside spare, anyone interested?

well, i finished my custom fiberglass encloser for my xb. It fits insie the spare tire by cutting out the center of the foam, and flipping the tire over. I currently have the elemental designs shallow mount 10" sub in it , and it sounds great. It should fit the pioneer hsallow mount 8" and 10" sub as well. I is about .33 cubic feet of air space. I am wanting to produce a few more of these, and improve on the one i have. Foe one, mine has a 5/8" top, and ill move to a 3/4" for less flex, also i put in a 1/2" bottom, and i wont do that, makeing the mounting depth just over 4". also on mine the speaker wire comes out the bottom, making it hard to remove, the new ones will come out the edge of the top, making access ot the spare easier.

I am wanting to see if there is much interes in these, as I have not seen one offered yet. If anyone is, im goign to do the first batch really cheap inorder to get customer reviews and more installation pics.

I will do just the sub enclsure for 75$, and i will do the whole rear area for 150$. This come with carpet and a grill. Shipping not included.

everyone is custom built so if yo uhave a request let me know.

ALso, these enclosures should fit an Xa as well, since they use the same spare. If anyone has an xa in central oklahom aand wants one, ill install it all for free for letting me use it as a template, you just pay the 75$ for the box.

hhere is a link to all the pics

so n one is interested in this enclosure? I figured there would se some interest, as it lets you keep your spare, your storage area, if you put the amp under your seat, as i did, and no loss of back storage area as well.

yes, all i did was cut the center raise part out of the foam, allowing the tire to flip over. to reverse the install, you just have to set the foam back in wherer it goes, but ill get pics tonight

i could probally get the pioneer shallow 8" sun under the cover, or maybe thier 10", but it would lose some air space

or you could recess the speaker by cutting a hole in the top mdf piece the diameter of the speaker and then cutting an mdf ring to mount the speaker on and glue it to the bottom of the top piece.

that would save you some space but im not sure what kind of numbers your looking at for mounting depth the way the enclosure is right now

well, my ED sub was 70$ with free shipping. INstall is easy. If you get the wholw top, i would test fit it to my car, take pics, write up some instructions. It would be pretty easy. All you would need to do is hook up the amp. If oyu put it in the amp rack, you would need to drill a few holes, ect. If you have any friends who have ever installed a amp, you could do it yourself.

As far a recessing the sub, maybe with the pioneer 10", but my ed is pretty colse to the bottom, but i put a 1/2" mdf cover over the center, which i wont do again.

the ed sub has a mounting depth of 3"
the pioneer 10" is 2 7/8"

also, if you cut the foam out of the bottom of the spare tire holder, not just the center, it would go done about another 1/2" at least, so i sat i could get one to fit, but unsure how it would sound or if the top would rattle. I would probally trim some of th eplastic off the bottom of the cover so it does not hit a full excursion.
