Default MORE Auto-X In-Car Video xB

Here are the vids of me auto-x'n this weekend. It was at NTI in Mooresville, NC. On Saturday was an auto-x school for NTI students, so I went up to help out. During their lunch break, we(the workers and instructors) got to do fun runs. The cam mount worked perfect, so I used it for Sunday's points event. The link below is one fun run from Saturday and all four runs from Sunday. We are having a 12 hour charity auto-x next Saturday, July 14th. Details can be found at http://www.ccrscca.com

Thanx. I took the post from a inexpensive tripod since it already had a place to screw the camera on to it. Got some U-Bolts, washers, and locknuts. Figured out where I needed to drill holes and drilled. I also used a shoulder strap w/ metal clips from a duffle bag as a safety strap(not pictured). I think the pix are pretty explanatory. And I used a different camera to film the auto-x than the one in the pix.

Nice vids man. That looks like a really tight course! Maybe it was just the video, I don't know. Either way, good driving.

I think it was designed by a Corvette driver. When walkin the course, I thought it was gonna be really fast. It was fast, but tight. This coming up Saturday's will be a lot more open. Expect more vids, alot more...12 Hour Auto-X, Work 2 hours and run the other 10.

Default MORE Auto-X In-Car Video xB

We had our charity auto-x and raised about $2300 for a local camp for abused and neglected children. Every1 had a blast, I destroyed some tires, and even drove a Saturn once.

The new vids...

Nice vids...so, how do you feel about not being allowed to autox the xB anymore? Per the June '07 Fastrack:

They're afraid you'll roll over .

I've never seen an xB on the course, but my brother used to run his box and had no fear of flipping....but, he wasn't on slicks either....I've actually seen a GTi on it's roof...and they are still allowed.

^^ That's rough. Is this for SCCA events only? Or are other smaller clubs going to adopt this rule as well?

This ruling pertains to the SCCA only; if other autocross sanctioning bodies adopt the rule it will be at their own pace.

I was NOT on slicks. I also have no fear of flipping. The car feels alot more stable than it looks.

This clearly is listed as STOCK. An earlier issue of Fastrack says its still eligible for STS. I think this is to keep it off R-comps.

Yeah, we discussed it in our region.

I m not really that competive, but my car is still basically stock(Fujita SRI and MMW header) and I am runnin on stock size 185/60/15 Uniroyal Tiger Paws. I got those tires cause I needed tires and they were the quickest cheapest thing I could get a few days b4 an auto-x. I did get 4th out of 7 at our last event. I really think on a nice set of coilovers and wider tires I might trophy. All of the veteran auto-xr's have told me my driving skill is very good, to the point where they have asked me to instruct novices if they need help and at our NTI student days. But my car is holding me back from winning for now.

yes that is for stock and all other r-comp legal classes only, it's been covered
chunk has it right

i don't think you need coilovers though, roadmagnet springs match very very well to the trd shocks, last time out my raw time beat an impressive list of cars (elise, SM class sti, m coupe, Z06)
