Just wondering how much everyone has been paying in parts (the kit), paint and installation.

I'd like to put together a special for xB2 owners, but have to show the average price to *hopefully* get the paint price down. :P

Lol hiphapasole! MSRP + 100000% mark up it is! JK LOL.

Retail is about
Kit $1425.00
Paint&Install $300-600... I love how the range is so large... lol

I might be able to do around $1700.00 installed... or maybe even painting and shipping the kits... though shipping will probably not happen haha.

It's great having a Toyota Certified Collision Repair Center on campus =P

I guess it's time to start pulling strings to get a solid number.

Thanks for the input :D

paint for this kit require very specail treament it being bare poly urethane..

I paid just for the paint alone over 300.00.. It must be done this specific way or else paint will crack and flake off. the kit is very flexable and with out proper prep and type of paint i dont think customs will be happy.. After I paint my kit i actually twisted the front lip in a circle and nothing happend tot he paint..

I would charge a fair price becuase labor is a very long process due to extended flash times about 800.00 judt for the paint and anouther 100 to install.. the install take about 1 hour or less becuase this kits fits so well..

Any body shop can do it for cheap pron 500 or less with install but just one time hitting a driveway that paint will start to flake off..

the kit hangs down very low..

That's the frustrating thing about this kit....so It's essentially $2000 - $2500 to have this lip kit.

Don't get me wrong, I know the quality is top notch and I think it does look great.

But for me, I'm sorry I just can't bring myself to spend that much for a lip kit. That $2.5K could be spent on so many other things that I think could make a bigger impact on the car.

Sorry ot get off track...just has bothered me every since I found out the price and the fact they were coming unpainted.

Yea... I freaked out when I first saw the price... especially when it was unpainted.

But the funny conversation that took place when I ordered them:
Unnamed Salesman: "Order Ten"
Me: "Uh... No."

I doubt seeing the price hitting the 500 mark (even in the future). That's WAY below my cost on it, and the exclusivity of the kit would also diminish if the price point ever reaches that range.

Though I'll probably bet a fiberglass knock-off will eventually surface around that price point, or lower. Just remember that the kit they use to make it has to be in perfect condition =P I've heard of fiberglass kits that worked "with minor modification" because the original used to make the mould was warped.

But I can at least say the kit's fit is amazing.

IMO, there is definitely a fine line between pricing items for "mass-market" and brands made for exclusivity... though sometimes the price for exclusivity is in space, lol. I'll close with this question:
If a Louis Vuitton wallet and a Docker's Brand wallet were always the same price, would LV be as revered? :P

one thing.. the Kit does make the car look 100% better.. I dont think there are any thing else much that you can do to make the new xb look better than its stock form.

Im my opinion the New XB is one ugly car stock.. and is like the XA in which you have to mod it a certain way to make it look crazy.

IM sure there will more kits come availble but hands down the Five Axis kit is well worth every penny. and the first kit i ever used that was made and designed in the USA that fit right.

I agreed that $500 is unreasonably low for a urethane lip kit, but personally, I would not pay over $1100 painted. I thought it was a terrible deal at $1500, and when I found out it comes unpainted, I scratched it off my list of possible mods. I don't care how well it fits, I don't care if it is capable of performing sexual favors, there is no lip kit on earth that is worth nearly 15% of the value of the car (intalled, painted). It is just my opinion, I know some people have bought it and I think it looks good, but not $2000+ good.

Not something I'd buy anymore. I'd save for a turbo or something better..... make it a sleeper

$1350 installed and painted from the dealer. Just picked my white XB up Monday, they told me the kit was $999.00 I explained several times to double check, because the Five Axis kit alone cost that. They said their cost was $1000 and told me it's the first kit they ordered and they will paint up and install for $1350 even if the kit was $1350. They ordered the springs and kit Monday and should be here by the end of the week.

I agree, the price for this kit is way to expensive. The five axis does give the car 100% more features and really sets it off. Personally i think the new xb's need em. Even though it is a high quality kit i still cant see my self paying 1400 non-painted for a lip kit.

i know my numbers won't be the 'typical' ones, but i got my kit for about $1000...my dad is/was the Service Manager at a Toyota/Scion in Wilbraham, MA (he's leaving that job in about a week) so he bought the kit for me with at cost, with his discount.

as far as paint and install go, the guy at the body shop (who knows my dad)...told him that he's going to prep/paint/install my 5axis kit AND the GT Concept fenders that i bought off ebay (impulse buy...come to find out that the vents are actually functional). well. he's doing it all for FREE :lalala: as a thank you for being in the military and for spending 14 months in Iraq (been here since Jan 14 2007, leaving here on Feb 9 2008...17 days left!)

i'm getting one hell of a deal on my xB overall...and it's all thanks to my dad...he knows a guy at Town Fair Tire (northeastern thing) and they're hooking me up with my TSW Vortex 20x8.5, chrome, +40 rims with 235/35/R20 Hankook Ventus V4 tires with the TPMS valve stems, for $1700 total..the cheapest i could find the rims alone for was $1760.

Sorry for the ramble about my deals! i guess i'm just a little excited since the paperwork for my xB was signed yesterday! and it's being towed down to Camp Lejeune for the DAY i return to the states!

What a great story... very well deserved IMO. My brother made 2 trips to Iraq and is currently in Kuwait sipping Starbucks coffee. We are all happy that he's not in Iraq again so I am sure your family can't wait for you to come back home.

Your car is going to look so sick when you get it. My only concern for your car are the GT fenders. Last time I saw a pic of them, the fenders were not even aligned properly. It would be a pity if everything fit perfectly and then have the fenders ruin the flawless look. Good luck to you man...

first off, let me say thank you and extend my support to your brother...kuwait is pretty nice these days..the main airforce base has it all, McDonalds, pizza hut, etc etc. no such luck he at Al Taqqadum...

i've got big plans for my xB.. the TSW rims, strup headers/exhaust, interior led swap, full JL Audio system (2 1000/1's to 2 13w7's, zr650 front comps, zr525 rear comps, 2 300/2's for them, 2 yellow tops, Pioneer AVIC-Z2 headunit), rumion tails, nst lightweight pulleys (no under/overdrive for this guy), turbo set up (whenever a bolt on kit comes out), that's just off the top of my head, i've got a list somewhere...

about the fenders...my dad did say they were a little rough around the edges, but his body shop guy is one of the best i've ever seen, i know they're in good hands...i'll hopefully have pics soon...its actually at the body shop right now getting that work done, i'll have to get my dad to take some pictures since the soonest i'll be able to do that is about 24 days..

i've got a big box and bigger plans...watch out!

the rims i'm getting are TSW Vortex's...20x8.5, chrome, with a +40 offset, my xB is dropped with the TRD lowering springs. i'm still waiting for pictures from my dad, things are kind of crazy for him at the moment, plus it's in the body shop getting the kit and fenders taken care of.

12 days till i leave Iraq, and 15 days until i finally get to see my car!

I'd pay what they're asking if it came painted. But paying that much then having to find a shop to paint it is too much. And around here if it's not insurance work, the body shops (well the good ones) charge a ton to do work.

I can get that Razzi(sp?) lip kit already painted for the price of the un-painted 5-axis kit. But it's kind of yuck and might be not be poly....

Maybe I'll be lucky and someone will offer them painted.

i just came back doing a 15 month tour from iraq and i wish i got hooked up like that. man the dealership told me they were giving me the kit for $1295 painted and installed then i get a call 3days later telling me that if i wanted the kit i would have to pay $2400 more. i was so upset and was like what the hell is the problem they told me that it was the first kit they ever did and they didn't know it costed that much and came unpainted. they also tried to tell me if i go the kit that they would not warranty it because it was not a toyota part i told then they were full of it and after about 30minute of yelling at them for there poor knowledge on the scion product. so all in all i didn;t get the kit cause it would have came out to $3700 which is way to expensive for a lip kit so they gave me floor mats for free instead.. kit is nice but not $3700 nice i'll just wait for something else to come out. :tap:

i know how you feel with that long of a deployment! i've been out here for 14 months, thankfully we're flying out either tomorrow night or Monday morning! I'll be back in the states on Thursday the 14th, and my dad will already be waiting there with my car on the trailer!

That's some major BS they put you through about the kit. If you still want the kit, best bet would probably go to TRDSparks.com...unless the dealer will give you a better deal the next time you call...

Still waiting on pics of my car though, with my dad starting the new job, things are crazy for him right now. I'm also still waiting for my rims to arrive, they ordered straight from the factory and were told 2-3 weeks for delivery...2 weeks is today..hopefully they get there within the next 5 days so my dad can atleast bring them down with the car! i'd be quite upset to have to roll around on stock steelies until i get to go on leave, especially knowing that my 20's are just sitting at home...begging to be put on!

Whispaz - My home town is obviously local, but I am stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina...the only time I'd be able to make it to a meet would be when I'm on leave, which I don't get to do often. However, I should be getting to go on Post-Deployment leave, rough guess would be the first 2 weeks of March. Anything scheduled for that time frame?

Well, I fly out of Iraq in about 12-14 hours, finally staring our 3-4 day trip home!
