Default How much did you pay for the 5Axis Lip Kit?

Just wondering how much everyone has been paying in parts (the kit), paint and installation.

I'd like to put together a special for xB2 owners, but have to show the average price to *hopefully* get the paint price down.

Lol hiphapasole! MSRP + 100000% mark up it is! JK LOL.

Retail is about
Kit $1425.00
Paint&Install $300-600... I love how the range is so large... lol

I might be able to do around $1700.00 installed... or maybe even painting and shipping the kits... though shipping will probably not happen haha.

It's great having a Toyota Certified Collision Repair Center on campus =P

I guess it's time to start pulling strings to get a solid number.

Thanks for the input :D

paint for this kit require very specail treament it being bare poly urethane..

I paid just for the paint alone over 300.00.. It must be done this specific way or else paint will crack and flake off. the kit is very flexable and with out proper prep and type of paint i dont think customs will be happy.. After I paint my kit i actually twisted the front lip in a circle and nothing happend tot he paint..

I would charge a fair price becuase labor is a very long process due to extended flash times about 800.00 judt for the paint and anouther 100 to install.. the install take about 1 hour or less becuase this kits fits so well..

Any body shop can do it for cheap **** 500 or less with install but just one time hitting a driveway that paint will start to flake off..

the kit hangs down very low..

That's the frustrating thing about this kit....so It's essentially $2000 - $2500 to have this lip kit.

Don't get me wrong, I know the quality is top notch and I think it does look great.

But for me, I'm sorry I just can't bring myself to spend that much for a lip kit. That $2.5K could be spent on so many other things that I think could make a bigger impact on the car.

Sorry ot get off track...just has bothered me every since I found out the price and the fact they were coming unpainted.

Yea... I freaked out when I first saw the price... especially when it was unpainted.

But the funny conversation that took place when I ordered them:
Unnamed Salesman: "Order Ten"
Me: "Uh... No."

I doubt seeing the price hitting the 500 mark (even in the future). That's WAY below my cost on it, and the exclusivity of the kit would also diminish if the price point ever reaches that range.

Though I'll probably bet a fiberglass knock-off will eventually surface around that price point, or lower. Just remember that the kit they use to make it has to be in perfect condition =P I've heard of fiberglass kits that worked "with minor modification" because the original used to make the mould was warped.

But I can at least say the kit's fit is amazing.

IMO, there is definitely a fine line between pricing items for "mass-market" and brands made for exclusivity... though sometimes the price for exclusivity is in space, lol. I'll close with this question:
If a Louis Vuitton wallet and a Docker's Brand wallet were always the same price, would LV be as revered?

one thing.. the Kit does make the car look 100% better.. I dont think there are any thing else much that you can do to make the new xb look better than its stock form.

Im my opinion the New XB is one ugly car stock.. and is like the XA in which you have to mod it a certain way to make it look crazy.

IM sure there will more kits come availble but hands down the Five Axis kit is well worth every penny. and the first kit i ever used that was made and designed in the USA that fit right.

I agreed that $500 is unreasonably low for a urethane lip kit, but personally, I would not pay over $1100 painted. I thought it was a terrible deal at $1500, and when I found out it comes unpainted, I scratched it off my list of possible mods. I don't care how well it fits, I don't care if it is capable of performing sexual favors, there is no lip kit on earth that is worth nearly 15% of the value of the car (intalled, painted). It is just my opinion, I know some people have bought it and I think it looks good, but not $2000+ good.

$1350 installed and painted from the dealer. Just picked my white XB up Monday, they told me the kit was $999.00 I explained several times to double check, because the Five Axis kit alone cost that. They said their cost was $1000 and told me it's the first kit they ordered and they will paint up and install for $1350 even if the kit was $1350. They ordered the springs and kit Monday and should be here by the end of the week.
