i just got the Bbist.com VS spoiler installed, and my gas mileage went down ?

are these two connected?

 

Could be , you added weight to your box , and changed it's areodynamics.

but could be weather ( temp), gas , driving style , and many other things combined.

 

yep, could even be the gas you put in! give it a month. it you still notice a drop, then yes it did, but im betting on just one situation.

 

Since you installed the wing, you have felt the urge that you're car drives faster. With this your MPG has gone down.















Now in all seriousness how much did it go down?

 

yeah i'm curious too. cause i'm looking at getting the same spoiler. keep us updated on how your mileage is going. also... did you install the spoiler yourself.

As mentioned, it could just be a fluke - OR it could be creating a lot more drag than it looks like it should be!

 

Drive in reverse. If your mileage goes back up, the spoilers installed backwards.

well, yeah, it's gone down. by about 2 mpg...

i had it off for 2 weeks, to have it re-cleared. and it went back up...

meh, whatever, it looks cool.

 

man, someone should do a survey of how much money one can save without an spoiler with poor aerodynamics. we need statistics!

 

That's a bummer....I also read somewhere about changing the Ground Effects will do the same thing because of the added weight...but if MPG isn't an issue and it DOES look cool. I only check my mileage about once a month just for reference.
