Default HELP with Right Hand Drive tC

Hey guys, I am from New Zealand and as you guys know that Scion isn't unavailable outside of States (At least that's what I heard). But I am just in luv with the tc. Can anyone please please please tell me about any place within New York who does a RHD Conversion or is anyone aware of a Japanese Scion dealer who sells RHD Scions? It would be of great help.

Good luck body. The tC is built for the USA only right now. So there is NO RHD version any where in the world. So to make it RHD, it would cost you a **** load of green backs.

don't think so. the closest you'd get is the avensis. scion was meant to be released here as a new brand. thats why it won't be released there. only toyotas. :?

How would they? They would need to build a whole new front clip pretty much, then a whole new dash, I dont think a company would venture into the cost just to sale 1 car.

If you're from New Zealand, why would you want someone in NY to do a conversion...wouldn't some place on the west coast be a better option since it's closer to you?

I've heard of a few companies that do converstions in Cali, but like chucksu said......its gonna cost alot (if they can even do it to a tC)

Why don't you just import one and learn how to drive on the other side. I'm sure you'd get some stares checking out your ride

Thats true, if some of us "Yanks" can learn to drive RHD cars, you should be able to learn a LHD. That is unless its not legal to have a LHD car in your country.

"I dont think a company would venture into the cost just to sale 1 car."

There are people who will do anything for $$$. I'm sure it could be done, but I don't know why you'd do it for a 16K car when changing it over would likely cost at least half that or more.

Just wait Chief.... I'm sure Toyota will eventually rebadge the tC as either a Toyota or a Lexus... add options, double/triple the price and sell it everywhere

^^^you can email them and ask them how to convert it... they probably know how. maybe you can ship them the whole dash and convert it for you. Anything is possible with money.

Its not only the dash that needs to be changed :? You would need to do swap everthing from the drivers stand point, to the right side of the car. Then you would need a new rack & pinion system, might be able to use the old steering rod. I dont see what the point would be. So what if you have the only LHD tC, there would still be better cars out there, that would cost just as much as the tC+shipping+work.
