Default To all who have S.Tech's

Hi everyone, I've searched for it, but i cant find anything on it, so I'm posting it. To all who have installed S.Tech's that drop 2.4/2.0 (I think thats the only amount, but I just want to be sure), what tips do you recommend on installation. I have mine, and I'm looking at installing them next week. I know I need a spring compressor, but do i need anything else? Are there any in-depth instructions on installing them? The Tein installation manual is very vague. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Awesome

I'm starting to worry about dropping my car with S.Tech's. What all do i need, besides a spring compressor? Should there be anything i should be concerned about?

^^ I agree with the person above.....using an impact wrench would help you a lot. Especially for the rear bolts....jesus I remember trying to get that one off without using a impact wrench and it was a nightmare. If you are doing it manually without access to a impact wrench....i suggest you get a 1/2 inch ratchet and a breaker bar that would slide at the end of the ratchet. Also pick up a can of PB Blaster too.

I did my s-techs with hand tools only. Breaker bars are a must. Make sure you stay hydrated in this heat too. I hadn't realized how long I'd been outside when I installed mine and my muscles started cramping up by the time I got to the second rear shock. Not fun. A full set of metric sockets and matching open ended wrenches is helpful. An impact wrench would've been really great looking back on it.

Main concerns are safety. That and have some 2x4s to lower your car onto after you're done. My floor jack won't fit under my car now unless I drive up on 2x4s. The rear shocks are a huge pain in the ___ to get to and are a big pain to compress. The fronts are cake.

no dont you dare switch over... s -techs are amazing... make them service it... you paid for the car, you do what you want, you should make them do it... otherwise go to a different shop but do not give up those s-techs!

The dealership you brang to is lying to you.....I work at a dealership and what they can do is get you car into position where the lift is and then use the Snap-on race style floor jack and jack the car up enough for the hydraulic arms to fit under. They're just being freaking lazy.

No they can get the arms under... they have to put blocks under the front wheels like Racersky said to get the arms under... i had to do the same thing for my car when i took it off the lift after installing the s-techs... and honestly the h-techs wont be any better because they are only .5 inches higher... i dont know how much better that would be... i say you go back there and tell them you talked to people including one who works at a dealership and say it is possible but they have to put the front up on blocks... otherwise tell them to use the ramp style lift with extended ramps so your car doesnt bottom out... i have been through the same issue and solved it.... dont give up on the s-techs and looks and all that on your car for some dealership issues... your car is more important haha do what you want, you paid for it make them work around it...

i know how service techs get lazy and all but jesus in they don't do it call you scion if i were you...put in a bad rep and you will see a crazy outcome. That has happened before at the dealership i worked at and believe me it wasn't pretty.

Yeah that's just plain laziness. Sure it's a little more work to get under there but it's not like they don't have the capability.
