is the lumino coming to the states or is it only for japan?

i think the lumino body is soooo much better than the new xb. retains the boxy-ness of the original esp at the sides but updated, front face looks so much prettier, and not at all pt cruiser-ish like the 2008.

i was so so close to just buying the new one for the interior and safety stuff, but still can't get over the exterior looks. hate the way the fenders look over the wheel- like the pt cruiser

googled lumino, toyota lumino.... but not much is coming up.

 

Chances are its a no. That would release competition for themselves with themselves and it'd be dumb.

 

I totally agree with you about the Lumino styling being better looking. There is no way it's coming here. However, I don't see any reason why a front clip swap wouldn't work - provided it's possible (and economically viable) to get the parts.

But the sides... are they really any different on the Lumino?

 

No, it'll only for Japan if they do produce the car, since we already have the xB. It'll just be badge as a Corolla Lumino like the other Corolla's they sell.

I think I read a while back that Toyota did make a mistake by not having a Japanese counterpart for this very reason. To have interchangeability with their oversea cousin. The new ist was kept under wraps and launch quickly after the xD had their release date set, and it seem like Toyota is going to do the same for the Lumino.
