Default Infinity Amplifiers - IMS Input?!

Sooooo I've searched all over and cannot figure out what use Infinity has for the "IMS Input" RJ-45 connections that are on each of their new amps(REF475a, REF1300a, REF1600a). I'm assuming that it will have something to do with remotely adjusting settings on your amps.

I've had the REF475a and REF1600a since they came out and I love em :D Any useful input would be AWESOME!

My setup:

What ive seen them used for is to give you a little more bass.

Basically you set your gains a little higher or your bass bost a little higher with the **** maxed out.

So while driving normally you have the know about midway, and when you want more bass turn the **** up.

I dont know where to get the Infinity **** though,AND every brand doesnt work with other brans

What you're referring to is the "Remote Level Control" port in the image I posted. I know this, and use it Thanks for your input though.

I think you are misunderstanding him.

The only thing I see is the IMS port as listed as "future expansion port for accesories". ...that means nothing will come of it.

Possibly used by engineers or a computer to test the amps or change settings?

Well that's pretty damn lame if they do nothing with it. I'd buy whatever eq/audio processing unit(if that's what it was used for) that'd hook up to it

Thanks for your input

Resolved, and I can't wait for it to come out

"Good afternoon and thanks for your inquiry. IMS stands for Information Management System which is a peripheral that is being developed currently to control amplifiers via a RJ45 control cable to each respective Reference amplifier. The system is still under development and is not due to be released until sometime in 2008 hopefully.

I hope this helps.

Well.. yeah..

But that's a lot of wasted circuitry to not release something to work with it ;)
