Default hey i have a question.

Hey there I just installed my AEM CAI last week, and i thought that it would give me better gas milage. after installing it the range of a full tank went down from 335 to 255. I was wondering if there was a certain amount of time before i would see the effects of the CAI. I know that i might be driving it a little harder with it on but still i lost almost 100 miles. if anyone has any insight to this it would be much appreciated. thank you

did you unplug your battery to reset your computer? I think this is something that has to be done. If you did then it might take a bit for the computer to figure out everything. Also you do tend to drive it harder after you install an intake due to the sweet sound! haha..

if your RANGE is what the computer reads, don't believe it, mine's never right. if it's what you're actually getting, then that's odd... but give it time, your computer has to relearn some things.

How do you like the CAI otherwise? I'm interested, mainly for the same reason you got it, mpg, but i like the sound usually too

Thats prolly cause you are on the throttle hard so you can hear all the cool sounds your car makes . There is a break end period of course and resetting the computer works.... In my experiences where you will see the most benefit is highway driving.

i put my short ram back on, i get around 33-35 mpg now. It doesn't have all that weird tubing. Just the stock pipe and the filter. It still sounds good. I got all HKS stuff. from japan...lol.

CAI really isn't going to give you noteworthy increase. Maybe 1-2 on freeway.
