Default turbo question

I no this might be a stupid question and it may have been asked before if it has im sorry. But i just can't find it if it has been. Im putting a turbonetic turbo on my 05 flint mica tc and everyother kit it seems like comes with new oil lines and a new oil catch pan. The turbonetics kit dosent so i guess my question is do you need to replace them?? thanks in advance

i would wait a bit before i ordered the turbo. just do a little research on how everything works bro. take an extra week and be safe. dont try to learn everything while its shipping or you might regret the kit you ordered and want to get a turbo toyotas haha.

Yeah, I don't think ANY kits come with a pretapped oil pan, but you might be able to get one from certain companies, like Dezod or Turbo Toyotas. But all kits should come with the oil feed and return lines.

You can always have a shop tap your pan for you.

You have to tap the oil pan which really went better than expected for me when I installed mine. The kit comes with all the lines and the tap you need to do this.

haha dont do that. you make yourself sound stupid.

what the other kits come with is a new pan that you poke a hole in and put the thingy in and skrew the hose in and it transfers oil back and forth through the turbo and oilpan.

thassit. s'al good in hte hood.

oh and one from the turbo to to the uhhh....whereelse? i forget. theres another line that goes to the engine itself somewhere but i forget.

From the block, into the turbo.
Out the turbo, into the pan.

The only one I saw that had the option came with a PRE TAPPED oil pan. I got one from Todd for my kit.
that way, you just take off the old and install the new and plugin yoru line.

I don't mean to sound like a dick ... but based on this thread I would say that you may want to do a little research before making this "jump".

I realize that you are only helping with the install, and you will learn a lot (or at least can) during this process, knowledge of WTF is going on under the hood is vital in maintaining it and tuning.

Also, perhaps you are a good driver I don't know ... but I have this funny feeling that you may be one of those kids that ... nevermind, you get my point.

Anyhow, do some research before jumping into this.

Take your time and figure out a way to just punch the a whole into the pan. Believe me its much easier than changing the pan. I have done it both ways on many installs.
