Default xA CAM CAI install... or not?

ok, help me out here, i just got my aem cai in the mail for my 2005 xA and the "ppl" i ordered it from told me it would fit an xA. NOWHERE on the box does it say xA... of course it says nothing but "xB" all over the thing. It also came in one piece (i was expecting two).

anyone else out there done this yet - install an xb aem cai on an xA??? and where did you put the bypass valve? damn these "ppl"

well, i'm pretty sure that the AEM intake for the xB and the xA come standard with the bypass valve, which also means it should be a two piece....i would call the people up and make sure they sent you the right thing.

I also asked the question and was told that the xB and xA CAI are one and the same. As for one piece intake, I think if it's one piece, then that's a short ram, not CAI. By pass valve does not come with all AEM CAI, and will require to purchase separately, unless it's a whole package deal from the dealership.

The new AEM "CAI" for the xB is only for the xB. The AEM CAI at the dealer is their first version and is for both the xA and xB. The second version is only for the xB. K&N and Weapon-R have seperate CAIs for the xA and xB. The Injen CAI fits both the xA and xB. The Injen Shortram for the xB only fits on the xB. The Injen Shortram for the xA fits on the xA _and_ xB. It's confusing...but I hope I helped.
