Default AVIC-D2

When performing the bypass on the avic-d2, upon grounding the parking brake wire, will the "ebrake" light light up on the instrument cluster? That would be annoying. If so, is there any way around that?

you ground the ebrake wire on the back of the unit... not the factory wiring... hopefully this will clarify...

Ohhhhh thanks for clarifying. I was under the assumption that I was to ground a factory wire. Thanks again.

When re-pinning the harness with the new wire..how do you ground it if you have to plug the harness back into the unit?

what do you mean tweeter? It's a little unclear to me because I've been out of town and haven't had a chance to look at the unit yet. I just want to make sure I know what I'm doing when the time comes very shortly.

alright... here it goes...

you will re-pin the power and speaker harness in the only empty spot... now that wire.... your original ground and lt. green ebrake wire you will ground out all together to the car harness... does that make sense.... its does in my head but its late and i just worked a 14 hour day...

So I just ran into something unexpected, the back of my unit doesn't have video inputs..meaning no plugs for Red, Yellow, White. I have the AVIC-D2. I was under the assumption those input plugs would be there. How do I get a video signal?

there should be another harness that should have came with the unit... it has vid/audio in.. vid/audio out.. ect...

if you dont have it you can try getting it from a pioneer dealer... bby and cc are out automatically... they suck at stuff like that

i have a D2 connected to my valor Dvd and i bypassed it at the stereo store.. the charged like 40 bux.. now i can drive and watch MOVIES!! i barely use this feature tho.. I heard for D1 u can use the brake bypass but D2 is different.. i don't think the E brake will allow you to bypass the D2..

alright...

here ya.. there is the one harness that comes with the unit... and power harness... it has your acc(red) Power (yellow) Ground (black) speaker wires (purple, green, white, gray) there will be one empty pin.. you need to pull a pin out of another pioneer harness.. (a lot of guys just pull the mute wire out of the secondary harness.. the one with the rca cables...) put in there then ground out that wire with the radio ground as well as the ebrake wire (lt green)

i think thats pretty clear... i hope it helps...
