Wow, pretty harsh words for our little car:

Meh. We all know it's a 'traditionally ugly' car. So yea, I'm not surprised by that at all.

i've heard from some people how it is ugly, but honestly, i didnt buy my car to please the media or anyone else. and if they did their research with some actual owners, they would find out that all of us love our cars and haven't gotten tired of them. i cant imagine ever trading mine in.

One guy said something along the lines of them just serveying any one who hated the car rather than actual owners.

Yeah, well, whatever. The only thing I can *really* disagree with is calling the xB "ugly". I wish they'd get it right: the xB is "HOMELY"! There IS a difference!!

*edited* They're most likely dissing these companies because the companies didn't want to pay them for "good reviews" or to not put their companys' name on the "ugly cars" list.

I agree with everything in the article but there take on the 1st Gen xB. There is NO other vehicle like it on the U.S. market. Tell me one vehicle that can average 30 mpg plus and you can still get a queen size bed home from ikea. I still think it looks cool as hell.

Wow, bad journalism! Whee!

Yes, the Hummer is the poster child for retarded car-buying decisions. But the PT is still posting strong sales (despite the announcement that its days are numbered) and was arguably one of the major factors in keeping Chrysler afloat, and the New Beetle is still such a strong part of Volkswagen's lineup that it's featured in their biggest current ad campaign (three v-dubs for etc etc). And the Scion is both a) no longer for sale, and b) was an excellent seller until the very end. Obviously the marketing hasn't QUITE faded, if we're still in the news nearly two years after they stopped making the car.

"Made some sales"? Is he kidding? My box took six freaking weeks to FIND, let alone purchase, and while I was signing the paperwork two other couples tried to purchase one. Back when I was a columnist we used to do this thing called "research."

So, basically, this douchebag picked three high-profile domestic duds and three cars he was sick of seeing. Right?

MSN has always had crappy articles. Lately it seems like they get an interesting picture and fake an entire column around it.

"never majored with its target audience" ????????????
i also took several weeks to find a PW 06 with a manuel trans even close to my area. the dealer had to bring it over 500 miles from another state.

whatever, thease guys just don't know - or didn't want to know what the truth is. the bad part is other people that don't know will belive thease writers when they read the artical.

i hate news people! they spread evil propaganda!!!

That writer is an idiot.
As if I was duped by hype, and now I realize what an ugly car I bought?
Screw you!

I hear so much flack for my toaster. I've heard all the stupid comments, yellow bus and all that baloney. It's MY car and I LIKE it and if you don't jump into your american pos taurus, cavalier, cobalt or intrepid and leave me alone. By the time your pos is being crushed at the junkyard I'll still be rolling strong.

As far as this idgit is concerned, Scion owners ARE loyal and we like our XB's. It's about us not about anyone else.

We all know who owns MSN, and I assume that Bill Gates would not own one. That keeps the BOX unique, with so many haters.
