Default warranty, cf hood, vented hood, or ignore it?

Lately the past few washings I've noticed three spots on my hood where the paint is starting to "shatter". It reminds me of the appearance of a desert during a severe drout? idk, lol.... and its starting to grow outwards from the center and its getting baad. My tc is an '05 and its been practically garage kept, I believe the warranty is almost up too. So I was thinking either if the warranty will cover it to get it repainted, get a cf hood, a fiberglass vented hood, or just ignore it. The only thing I worry about a cf hood is if it starts fading yellow , (its gonna be driven more when I fiinally get my liscense) . Any ideas/ suggestions? Oh and btw... my mom's 08 xB is starting to do the same...

thanks in advance,

your warranty only covers factory defects, so it has to appear to be a defect in the factory paint job.

how easy it is to prove that, i don' t know.

and if your mom's xb is starting to do the same, highly doubt that you'd have the same paint defect on cars built 3 years apart. it sounds more like something your going than something toyota did.

thanks in advance,
have you taken it in for a professional detail with a wax, buff, clay job? may do a lot for the car. Also, do you get a lot of salt from the ocean in the part of FL you are in? Salt is awful for cars up here in Chicago, but the salt is only when it is crappy out. you may have that all year

I live in central FL so I dont think it is salt, but we have alot of oak trees in the area so im thinking it could be that tree sap may have damaged it somehow, but I dont know. Also Ive noticed the paint on my rear bumper starting to rust. I dont see where I coulda caused anything there. I wax it with the toyoguard stuff evry 6 months or so too, so i dont know what the deal is.

If the problem area is not too big, I would get it touched-up.

rust on the rear bumper is impossible.
the bumper is plastic.

take the car and have it professionaly detailed before doing anything.

carbon fiber will only fade if you don't take care of it. If you keep it waxed and clean, you should have no problems. I had a CF hood on my old car for about 3 years, still looked brand new. And as far as the "rust", it's industrial fall out from the environment, and road dirt. Get a clay bar, and that should take car of it.

I would go somewhere else than the dealer. Look in the phoebook for a professional deatil. It will cost, but you will be happy!!

Hey I know this is off topic but if anyone has a photoshop software, could you put a set of Exel Radius on my car one in gunmetal and one in black. I just cant decide between the two colors. I didnt want to start a new topic just for that. thanks guys
