I haven't messed around with a lot car stereos but but all of the ones I did use didn't even have a pause function for CDs. The only way to pause is to either change the audio source or turn off the CD player by pressing the power button or volume ****. Whenever my friend wanted to pause her iPod, I think she just holds down the mode button on the steering wheel (didn't really wonder until reading that autoblog) .....but I guess a simple fuction like that should have its own button....?

Slow news day at autoblog. Pause = Press Power button or Change Mode.

The mute button is pointless. It should just be a mute/pause button.

Clearly they did not read the manual.
Why do you need a pause button when the Power button stops the iPod or CD player and it resumes where you stopped when you press it again?

And thanks to another thread here, we also know that you can control the iPod by switching the Direct Control mode on the head unit. Clearly he did not read the manual.

This was written by a guy who works in the car industry near Detroit. He is probably just another Toyota/ Scion hater.

/\ haha, i was thinking the same thing.

I think this is one of the dumbest comments:
"I'm glad they post stuff like this. If I were looking at buying this car vs. another car that came equipped with iPod compatibility but COULD pause, this could be deal breaking (and making) news."

ME: so you got this Chevy HHR over the xB because the you can pause the iPod with the radio
HIM: yea
ME: (since they're is no "WTF" emoticon)

If no pause button is a deal-breaker when buying a car, Scion probably doesn't want you anyway. That guy just sounds like trouble.
