The only sensor on the TB should be the TPS. And it is adjustable. Try to find out what voltage it shoud be putting out at WOT, then use a ohmeter to test it while setting it. Let us know how it works out for you. You may want to try an portmatch the part for the SC too.

Is the idle control on the throttle body, or the manifold. Have never really looked on the xB. Mine on my RB25DET is on the manifold.

The idle control is not necessary anyway. It is only controled my the engine temp thru the ECU for start up on cold days. You can eliminate it and use the adjusting screw on the TB to adjust idle. That's what I did on my RB. Most guys do. But it makes it like a carburated car on cold days.

using the screw to adjust the idle would be easy enough... problem is, without the control connected wouldn't it throw a CEL?... is your RB in a 240? or is it still in the original car? ;)

S13 chassis.

And yes, it may throw the CEL. Have to try and figure a way around that. Let me do some research. Mine on the RB wouldn't because I was running a Apexi Power FC stand alone.

You may want to check into OBX. I know they have a replacement large bore throttle body for the 1NZ-FE.

This is interesting.
If your aircontrol unit starts to screw up you will get a 0172 at the very bottom.
With the SC the OE TB is on the small side & the air control is a problem, it's happened with this car.
Hoffman thanks for the info... I like it. Bigger TB, just need to figure the fuel control unit into the mod.

I think ours is 45mm, I heard the OBX was a 5mm increase
over stock.. 9% bigger, which is probably about right for our
wee motors.

That would be a yes, according to what I'v been told. I have ordered 1. The bad is I won't see it till Feb.
The most important part of the increase in size is how the bell & the back side of the butterfly are treated. For now, no got so no comment....

Not to revive an old thread, but I did this last weekend. 1zz-fe 60mm throttle body swap from a 1998-2002 corolla. I wrote a DIY over on clubxb if someone wants to look it up. It is *definitely* worth taking the time to do.
