Default Day starts off good - turns bad quick!

so my day starts off great! i get up go to school and discover that school is canceled due to the fires that we are having in the area, great i think to myself.

then a girl who is in my speech class pulls up next to me and asks me if school is closed. i tell her that it is but she can check on her own if she would like. so, that is what she did. she opened her door and this is where the story goes south.

as she opened her door her hand slipped and the wind blew her door all the way open and smashed it right into the ffront passenger door of my box. i literally almost shat my pants when i heard the colliding of the two doors.

once i calm down and know that i will not strangle her, i got out and did damage controll. her door had molding on it and had no damage. mine has two silver dollar sized dents over the impact bar inside the door. in other words, her door pushed the sheet metal of mine on both sides of the bar making it impossible to hammer out.

the quote that i got from my body guy is about 600 buckaroos. now, because i know the girl i tried to be extra polite to keep things civil. i have her info. but before i claim anything i told her i would give her until wed. to tell her parents first.

this has ruined my day off. i will post pictures up eventually, once i have calmed down a little more. i can't stand to look at it right now. thanks for listening and letting me vent! i'll do before and after pics as well, once the job is done!

OHHHHH NO, I sooooo feel for you! I was out shopping(which I do a lot) and park my box way out there, ( I would rather walk than get a door ding) so anyway, I'm sitting in my car getting my things together when this lady parks next to me, opens her door, gets out, closes her door then proceeds to open her rear door and out come this scare crow on a stick that she obviously was going to return to the store, when she pulls it out it hits my hood(I was backed in) I jumped out of my seat and said hey, she just shrugged her shoulders! Oh my gosh, if I could of beat her with that scarecrow I would of! It didn't leave a mark, but a sorry would of been nice. I was sorry that she was driving around in a POS buick!
So I am sorry about what happened to your box, I know accidents happen, but it doesn't make you feel any better!

Sorry to hear that man. Was she at least cute? Haha, sorry..HAD to ask...

That happened to me today at a damn gas pump. While I was opening my door, the wind got a hold of my door and hit the caution taped beam. The force of the door hitting, was loud. I nearly peed my pants. Thankfully, since my door handle sticks out, the door handle was the only part that got hit and not the door panel. There was no dent, nothing, I was so relieved. I think during these windy days i'm parking my car in the parking structure to avoid getting hit and hitting objects or cars next to me. You know there will be a lot of cars getting hit outside while the wind blows the hinges off the door while opening it.

Are you close to the fires? If you have a small deductable or gap insurance you can run it into the fire and jump out. Then you get another xB to custom.

Reasons why i park all the way in the back of lots. even then, my car has been hit with shopping carts! when i gotta leave the car in a lot i try to park on the end of rows. this way i can give more room on one side for door flinging retards

Sounds like she didn't really tell her parents. I'd say you should confront her and tell her if she doesn't tell her parents then you'll call her house and tell them yourself

How long you gonna wait till you just make a claim on her insurance? I feel for ya and hate to hear about this kind of useless damage.

her insurance won't cover it because it is right under her deductable. its around 500 to fix and her deductable is 550. she said today that she is waiting for her next paycheck to come in so next week i will see what excuse she has.

Sounds like it's time for Judge Judy or Peoples Court. There has been a tC on Peoples Court before.

threaten her with a police report. "I'll just have to make a police report for non payment since I have your info!"
