I got a cel while driving in the rain yesterday and was wondering if i could have sucked up some water and possibly shorted the mafs or something cuz the code that they got at autozone said maf and vaf. he reset it and it came back on about and hour later.
thanks.
thanks.
i have a fujita CAI and no inner fender, the 2 days i have driven in HARD RAIN i got a CEL, after it stopped raining it went away. (i turn on my trip meter whenever a CEL pops up) and it took 45 miles for the CEL to go away...
you shouldn't get a CEL from driving in the rain with a cold air intake.
i drive in the rain all the time with my trd CAI and never got a CEL. and i mean hard rain where the road looked like a freaking river.
something must be wrong with the CAI or your MAF or something, it shouldn't suck up any water.
as for what does CEL actually mean. it means that your engine has detected something wrong, and using a scangauge, it will give you an error code that will give you a general idea of what is wrong with the engine.
so get your engine scaned at the dealership or auto zone or whatever, see what is wrong.
