I get the Electric comments all the time, and the Box, and the clown car (because I'm 6'3" and getting out of it must look funny). The way everyone shuts up is I tell them to get in it.. then the opinions all change.. they cant believe the room or the layout.. then the mileage and price comment caps it off and they walk away saying how cool the little box is.

 

I was at a local car shop, and a guy came in with his Xb that he had just bought. His buddies must have knew he was getting it, because as soon as he walked in, they had one for him.
They said to him "you always had to ride the tard cart to school, so now you get to drive one."

When I try to describe the box to someone I use the if a Hummer2 and a Honda Element got it on, this is the result. Kinda want to line them all up and take a pic - mom, dad and the bastard child.

Other is: You bought the shoe box (this from the dealer). Yep, bought 2 of those show boxes off of your lot.

Had to pick up a prize we had won at a competing dealer, the entire sales force and service dept. were outside gathered around the box by the time I got back outside.

I'm with the other guy...every time I'm in a gas station someone says "what the hell is it?" By the time I explain what the hell it is, most all fall in love with it! I'm in real estate and it has been a great conversation piece...but some people are more interested in my car than the houses I show them! Having a ball in my BCP...still trying to decide on vanity plates...to many the same.

Somebody I know told me it was simply an ugly box, this is the funny part, the person who was ragging on my car drives a beat down half metal half ducttape early 90's mitsu 3000 with a base six, and trust me it runs like crap.

One late night i was at a toll booth here in MA, and a guy in a Ford Ranger pulled up along side my and said "now why the hell would you go out and buy a sh*t brown box on wheels?" I looked at him and simple said "You dumb sh*t this is and Hot Lava Metallic Burnt Orange Scion xB, now range your a@@out of my face.

Another person asked me if I was a scientist, because I was driving a project car.

 

True story: Parking in Old town Pasadena parking lot and a an old lady comes to me when im done parking and says, "HI". I say hi back, noticing she walking around my car. Then she asks, " hey, how do you charge these?" So i slapped the _____ and took her purse! lol. jk. But the rest is true!

 

Insult #1. Idiot lady at work called my xB "ugly." She drives an Aztek. Talk about UGLY!!

Insult #2. Idiot guy at beach called my xB a "spaceship." He drives away in some wrecked, piece-of -$#!? Maxima.

Being Asian (filipino)-When stopped by local michigan-domestic truck driving type-I say in a japanese accent (I do speak)-experimental!!!-Then I laugh and yell out Inevitable!!!

 

this thrad has made me laugh so hard.i had to be censored from laughing.

all my stories are similar to everybody.
my dad calls mine the -lunchbox
and other peeps the same thing.
box, toaster etc etc..

the ones i hate is "the little toy" and the "baby walker" ---what i REALLLLLy hate about those is that in spanish they sound worse.

 

The funniest is going to another dealership (non-scion) and parking like you are at a showroom, and when you see a rep walking towards you jus get out and walk away. By the time you get back I guarentee that every one of the customers that were there to buy a car from this company would be asked about your box.

I've done this ample times, Sorry Honda, Ford and Nissan.
