Wash, rinse, clay, polish, seal. the clay should get rid of a lot of the spots, if they aren't horrible. The polish will take care of the rest. If not, you need a more aggressive polish.

Try checking out www.autopia. It is a wealth of info for detailing.

A good wax?

Cleaning clay should do it failing that. Keep spraying liquid and turning the clay.

^^^ Clay Baring the car is a pretty easy thing to do... Just remember to always use the lube. You can damage the paint only if you go crazy on it.

The only few ways to mess the paint up is to re-use the clay if it falls on the ground or by not using enough detailer spray.
Work small areas at a time and it will get easier as you go along. I use a small piece of clay and need it real good then make like a mini hamburger type clump. You will literally see and feel the crap come of the paint. Wait till you feel the difference. It's truely amazing. Just remember to give a good wax job right afterward cause the clay removes all the old wax.

Vinegar will remove hard water stains and is the least agressive method. It is a good place to start.

To clarify, I have used it on my box and it works well when the stains are new (less than a week in the sun). I used 5 parts of vinegar (the kind you find at the supermarket) to 1 part distilled H2O. Im sure tap water would be fine though. I am sure straight vinegar would be fine as well, but I have never used it undiluted myself, so I cant say for sure.

Then load that into a spray gun that puts off a fine mist, spray area and let sit for 30-60 seconds, rinse off and wash as normal.

Some additional info too. If water is left to dry on the paint in direct sun it literally acts like a magnifying glass and burn the paint. If possible try and avoid sprinklers during the day. Besides sprinklers are only suppossed to be working at night so the water gets to soak in. During the day it is just a waste of water.

If you water at night it creates mold.

Vinegar is best. White vinegar.

Mold? where do you come up with that? I guess the DEW must cause mold too.

Off topic but look it up Jethro

BEST TIMES FOR WATERING

C Water during the cool part of the day to minimize water lost to evaporation. Early
morning hours (4 a.m. to 8 a.m.) are the best, and the peak water consumption hours (4 p.m. to 9 p.m.) should be avoided.
C Avoid watering during midday hours when it is hot and sunny to prevent scalding the
turf. C Watering at night is not recommended because the lawn stays wet for a long period of
time which can promote diseases and affect the health of your lawn. C Avoid watering during rainy or windy weather conditions.
