you will have to change your wheel to a smaller one so you can run a bigger rubber or else you will mess up your ODO and speedometer.. As long as the overall wheel diameter is within or very close to specs then you should be fine

Changing the profile height of the tire will do three things: 1. Change the speedometer reading 2. Change the odometer reading 3. Raise the car which can cause stress on your suspension.

You can get away with running a tire that is no higher than 2% or -%2 of the the actual size tire. Anything bigger than that will cause some problems.

Check this website out to see what % the tire you want to change to is compared to stock

stock is 215/45/17. i once ran stock Toyota Matrix wheels and tires, which were 215/50/17. didnt have any problems then.
