how do you get the rca jacks to work on the stock radio?

Default how do you get the rca jacks to work on the stock radio?
I just put in a amp and 12in sub

radio off, key in on position, hold in menu button till menu lights up , turn on sub out puts...its weird but only way to do it,,,,doesnt tell you anywhere in manual for radio ,,,,,,,,but thats how u do it
