Actually, I think the Sylvania SilverStars are quite good. Not quite as good as true HID, but nowhere near that price either. They are a big improvement over most OEM bulbs.

I have them in my '00 Silverado and I also put them in my wife's car. I liked them enough to buy a total of 8 bulbs at $20 a pop. (Both of those vehicles use a seperate bulb for high and low beam). They really are much better than regular bulbs. They are 100% legal, and they won't melt anything. When I sell my truck and get my xA, I'm putting a set in it as well. You can get them from most autoparts stores, plus Wal-Mart even has them now. The 9003 that the xA uses are $37 a set at Wal-Mart, and it's a double element bulb so you only need one set.

theres a couple bulbs that i like.

if you're goin for the hid look, get yourself a set of street glow "optix" bulbs. have them in my bonneville and i love them. give such a blue light and it makes seeing at nite so muce better
Nokya bulbs are great too, seen the nokya purple bulbs in a xb and they light up very nicely.
the silverstars are a bit more expensive but from everything i heard they are the only street legal bulbs. look great too

hope this helps
Jim

I have a set of PIAA's that were given to me and before I put them in I laughed at the fact that someone paid $70-80 bucks for a set but they really make a difference and I will buy them again when the time comes. I have also heard good things about the silverstars too and I think they are a good bit cheaper.

thats not true ... there are OEM reflector hid headlights and they work just fine (not as good as a projector setup) .. they dont give glare or anything

you gotta remember .... an hid reflector is designed to be just that ... dont get it confused with some tool who sticks a kit in his halogen reflector headlights

hids have to be done the right way or else it is a disaster

I have Osram Silverstars for sale, check my thread: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=34501

Osram (German company) owns Sylvania, but the American Sylvania Silverstars are not as good.

PM me if you're interested.

I don't think that the H4 bulbs fit in the tC.

Yea, I wasn't sure if they fit either, I was kinda lazy in checking but figure it was worth a try! Thanks for clarifying!

Silvania Silverstar bulbs are brighter and have a wide and long range of light compared to the stock bulbs that comes with the car. Xenon halogan bulbs are pretty good too. I put those ony both of my suburbans. Also they have a brighter range and width to it.

Both of those in my opinion are excellent bulbs.

I'm not sure about HID. Never bought them or installed them. So yea. I don't know, but I heard the super white is pretty good for HID.
