Default Which harness to will allow my cover to close with my HU?

Ok thinking about getting the Alpine w205 and I heard that it will fit with the current harness but I would have to drill extra holes to mount the HU to so my cover will close? I've also read that there are some harnesses you can buy that will allow the HU to fit and close the cover right out of the box... Anyone know of a good harness that will allow me to install my HU further back so my cover will close?

no harness will do this for you.
you are looking for the brackets and I dont think anyone makes em.You will have to use your factory brackets

If you have a powered drill a 3/16" drill bit and 2 min you can do this its very easy.

The spots where you drill are pretty much marked on the factory bracket.

1-10 scale of easy maybe a 9 would be 10 but you gotta have a drill

Not true. Look on crutchfield, it's where I got mine and it worked perfectly!

Here you go: http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...TOYK969&tp=861

Oh ok, so the dash kit in that picture is single din only? And to do this blazeplacid you said I will just need to drill my current factor brackets? How easy are they to take out so I can drill them? Is there a tutorial on here somewhere that shows how to do that?

The factory bracket is only held in by two phillips heads and two 10mm lag bolts. Don't worry, super easy to pop out. I can send you my crutchfield mastersheet directions for the removal if you'd like a more visual reference.

EDIT: For double din units, this kit is also sold by crutchfield. Most use it with the AVIC-D3, but I'm sure it'll work with the Alpine. http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...0958202&tp=861

i have the same head unit and my door closes. you just need the metra dash kit. none of the other ones let you close the cover but the metra will.

all your going to need is the sides that fillin the room on the sides of the radio.
Those are like 10 bucks.
Then just get your factory brakets and drill.

Extra easy
