View Full Version : K&N Dyno and intake pics now
NoLimitzBuilt 01-08-2008, 07:07 PM Here is the K&N Dyno for the new Intake for the 08. I will have one of these in hand next week to test. I will post pics and butt results on it.

Nzaw4 01-08-2008, 07:55 PM so our stock scions are 110 HP at the wheel??
Damn, after seeing these results, im hating my self for buying the TRD cai...... Hopefully someone will be able to get some real dyno stats on that too. But damn!! I want!!!

XD40tC 01-08-2008, 09:47 PM Theres no way in hell those numbers are accurate for our (5spd) whp... not even on a Dyno Dynamics dyno... The gains on the other hand may be accurate and if so thats pretty sweet! Im just trying to figure out how this looks in the engine bay based on the shape of it in those pics. Hopefully its sucking from the fender well and pretty well sealed off.
EDIT: Unless thats on an auto xB... Which is believable.
Something is seriously wrong with that XB2 to put down 110whp stock (unless this is was done on a mustang dyno which I hear read really low).
Is it CARB legal?
Bigfieroman 01-08-2008, 10:33 PM It did not put down 110. It put down close to 135. Look at the graph, the numbers listed are where the biggest DIFFERENCE between the curves lies. The peaks go quite a bit higher. Stock peak looks like 134ish, and the intake looks to be ~141 peak hp.
Nzaw4 01-08-2008, 11:17 PM Looking at it closer, i realized i was dumb  But i see that they just gauged it at second gear and the same RPM. They just picked a point where it was at stock, marked it, then put in the intake and monitored the same point where they marked it on the stock run. Not necessarily showing its max increase but showing that it had 9 more HP at that gear at that point than stock did .
Sorry i hope that makes more sense :lalala:

I wonder why they picked 5k rpm...they could pick any rpm and say it was between 1 and 18 hp diff.
chadfo 01-09-2008, 12:28 AM It looks to me like it peaked in the 140 range.
I'm curious why they did the K&N run before the stock run. Don't they normally do stock first? I don't know that it matters much except it was warmer.
cincinfocal 01-09-2008, 03:29 AM someone has to run the trd...for some reason i doubt that it would give a much different result...
XD40tC 01-09-2008, 03:16 PM whoops!
NoLimitzBuilt 01-09-2008, 03:34 PM why would the trd give a much different result?
NoLimitzBuilt 01-09-2008, 03:40 PM If I can get my hands on a TRD one, I will pay for the dyno time. I have a weapon R intake, my old style CAI K&N intake and K&N is sending me the new one. I would do dyno results on all of them if I can get a TRD one.
Zsanz 01-29-2008, 02:49 PM is this being publicly produced?
HareBrained 02-25-2008, 06:56 PM Not that this was taken in 2nd gear. Most power pulls are made in 3rd gear. The readings will be different.
Nzaw4 02-25-2008, 09:00 PM I got a TRD cai, everything else is stock. I can dyno it for you guys, if you can recommend a place to get my car dyno'd for free :P
simplexb 02-25-2008, 09:41 PM nolimitz dyno my injen cai
I just purchased one of these from K&N direct, it'll be here on Thursday. I'll install it asap & give ya'll feedback on it.
NoLimitzBuilt 02-27-2008, 01:53 PM I have one at the house. I can not get it to fit right with all my electrical changes.
