i was in a small accident last night. some guy in the lane next to me swerved to avoid a cat and hit me instead. i have quite a bit of damage. the side mirror was ripped off (it's still hanging by the wire) and scratched the driver's side door above and below the window. the plastic above the window is bent. the front left fender is dented in and i can't open the door as a result. the headlight is busted. the corner of the hood right above the headlight is bent and looks like it's possibly cracked. there's a hole in the bumper along with some scratches. the grill is popped out of place but i can't tell if it's broken or not.

anyway, a friend wondered if there would be any issues with finding parts since they aren't making the xA anymore. anyone had any problems with this? also, when something like this happens, do they paint the individual parts or repaint the entire car?

the paint on my bumpers are messed up and i got my car back in 04, it looks like its down to the last layer of paint =/ my friends said i could take it back to the dealers but i haven't gone back there since a couple weeks after i got my car to get its clear coating on it. can anyone suggest anything i can do to fix the paint? they always look dirty =/

 

Amberda, whoever does the repairs on your xA should have zero problems getting parts from the dealer. They will likely keep parts available for 10 years or more. Sorry you have to go thru this and hope the guy that hit you has good insurance and the repairs are done correctly.
